-- Black Friday today just like every year people lined up the crack of -- all over the country try to get the best deals of the year.

But are those Black Friday deals actually worth it let's ask Tom bush -- he is chief retail strategist at Booz and company.

So Tom are these real deals because some people say that you can actually get better deals at other times.

The year.

Well first of all David good morning and heavy Black Friday -- black strategy.

I had a chance last -- to go visit a bunch of stores talk to a bunch of people.

There are some great deals without question some great deals on electronics.

Some great deals on toys some great deals on video games etc.

how ever.

Black Friday is but one day in a litany of I would say holiday shopping experiences.

Cyber Monday expect -- deals also and by the way for the rest of the holiday season.

A lot of great deal.

But here's what makes people skeptical Todd Sears is advertising a new mixture that they have for 319 dollars special holiday sale.

Black Friday -- there.

What turns -- back in March now it's 319 that's a special deal in March you can get it for 296.

About 220 -- cheaper so.

And it yeah same thing with Home Depot GE dishwasher for 598.

Special DO nothing ever like it well in fact was 538.

Back in October.

Look without question you're seeing the if you -- at the right price they will come.

What's very interesting is that in fact a lot of products were cheaper earlier in the year.

And in fact there are series of product -- -- brought to market now which things like large screen TVs for 349.

Dollars.

In which I watch people yesterday stand in line for seven hours to pick up a a fifty inch screen TV.

But do recognize that there is a lot of hype this year about great deals some of them are in fact great some of -- were it not discredited like but how to the folks out there tell a difference.

Well -- brought with me this morning three inches three inches of ads from Wednesday night.

People have become very Smart last night in line I saw women -- the ipads essentially seeing where the greatest -- was.

So what we're seeing is the generation of of new phenomena of shopping.

All may stand in line.

When I'm also looking for great deals across -- whole range of Internet sites.

By the way it hasn't changed the way people average ideals while I was watching that pathetic jets patriots game last night which is actually a comical to tell -- the truth.

Head and it hurts because -- -- jets -- But Wal-Mart in the first hour of the -- -- start at 8:30 PM the first hour of the show when they were advertise like crazy -- special deals they had between 1011.

So they were expecting people and frankly not jets fan probably gets discusses and they didn't go out shop at Wal-Mart.

But they were expected be able to get up from the game and go to Wal-Mart -- these special deals you think those ads were effective.

David I was in the stores last night I was at the Wal-Mart store I saw people -- Ending up for the 399.

Dollar -- pads where I saw folks lining up for the 179 dollar.

Essential -- one of the things that's happened this year which is pretty spectacular.

Is this point based -- time based promotions.

I believe are really working well and they are great deals however.

You can also expect great deals for the rest of the season yeah although I I got -- -- new -- Newsom poll shows that.

Only 15% of shoppers are out on this Black Friday is is that.

Is that under what is normal or or about the -- Yeah I think you know there's about a 101 million households in America -- -- values seeking.

About 61% of americorps survivalist.

They may not be out in force this year so the people are out -- -- -- spending a little bit more.

My guess is we're gonna see a mix on this Black Friday and is driven by a whole series of emotional see changes 50% a little bit low.

Spends probably going to be in the 350 to 400 dollar range.

Average shopper that'll be up from last year we'll see whether or not we make fifty billion dollars for this.

Our Christmas weekend Tom -- shark -- -- retail specialist at Booz and -- great to see atop thanks very much happy holidays you haven't you have a great to have -- -- DO thanks a lot appreciate while there may.
