Friday an all things retailers -- events executive director at 8 PMG venture Graham joining me now from Phoenix.

US retail spending and New Yorkers alone account for 20%.

Of luxury spending.

So any dent at all into that is going to -- -- -- -- -- -- back so I'm not looking for stellar sales by any stretch of the imagination it'll be definitely respect.

We keep talking about all of these stores that are now and not just opening on Thanksgiving Day but opening earlier and earlier whether it's a Wal-Mart -- target the Tories are us.

Does it make does it work.

Does -- help them are they do do and it just because they get free published today from.

You know there -- a lot of other ways to seek free publicity then you know -- having an entire staff come in on Thanksgiving Day so.

These retailers that are opening that early they're desperate.

And so that should be the first clue to US consumers which obviously taken the -- And you know are leaving the table and heading out to the mall so.

The retailers have to be open on these days are the ones that need to be open the most especially from a stock standpoint so.

You don't see air -- crack -- open their doors.

You know on Thanksgiving night.

I never had a lot never bought anything -- -- has been I've actually never had anyone be even marginally nice to me when I walked in one of those stores.

And I'm not even talking about Paris on talk about like right here in New York City they're getting -- -- people.

On the planet I guess they can -- that.

They can be you know they don't have to go on sale which is that.

An indication for how you know the US economy really is if your luxury good a true luxury retailer things are great for you.

-- in the middle class -- -- JC Penney and it's it's interesting to watch this play out from a stock perspective because -- exactly how.

The US consumers are behaving you can see in the performance of these retailer -- -- And everybody hello -- longer and yet American -- up 50% in the last year Abercrombie & Fitch not Sachs.

Is up 20% so that bears it out there are some specialty -- -- what about other specialty retailers that have been doing quite well.

You know I am I am a big fan of Nordstrom they've been doing doing great hitting on all cylinders it's really high -- -- So you look at target cost -- You know Wal-Mart -- doing great.

You know a luxury retailers are reached -- PP are those are super high end retailers -- You know.

Stella McCartney all of -- All of those out of high end super high -- retailers are -- -- anyone it's in the middle.

Not so -- -- you know be localized air merchandising approach so they're really paying attention.

That local consumer you can see it aired out I think Terry was actually greeting people today the door you know health.

Where if that -- asking where -- -- harmless court assuring that players with mom slightly better dawn on well not -- things he runs the pump and I.

Working on holidays and knowing where the ladies permanent turnout from -- report its.

Kristin what about Dick types that are you worried about the fiscal cliff as we get toward the end of the year and could you start to see.

Consumers pull back the closer we get to Christmas.

Definitely done in a matter -- down in Washington.

Oh absolutely they think it's an interesting about this if you know you ask someone on mystery what the fiscal -- is they probably don't know.

But what they do know is when they get an extra 3000 dollars per household in taxes that they're gonna have to pay.

That's gonna really -- to how consumers spend their money some absolutely worried I think you're gonna see retail take a big hit.

I think a lot of people want to feel better and shopping makes us feel better.

And you know they'll get out there and he would they need to do to -- -- under the tree for their kids but come January 1 you'll see a horrific fall back.

My opinion -- it was good to see -- and I -- image -- after the bill shows up.
