On top of over the top spending on Social Security Medicare and Medicaid.
The Wall Street Journal Steve Moore Smith of Washington doesn't deal well this mess there were all in a lot of trouble.
See you know we we keep -- over and over again it was a big topic during a debate and yet.
You know as its fiscal -- Anxiety -- I don't hear anyone talking about entitlements.
Does not amazing actually.
-- -- wanna go back to what Jesus said -- about.
-- -- something like 45 million I don't know the exact number someone somewhere right around 45 million Americans on food stamps.
But you know we think about that's one out of seven Americans and that means.
That the one out of seven Americans is gonna have their Turkey dinner paid for by taxpayers and that that -- an abomination.
-- the system that what is wrong with our country that people can't even afford to put food on the table I think it's it's a real testament that.
How lousy this economy -- and by the way how much we've created an entitlement mentality that everybody just feels like they're entitled to out to these food stamps now.
When you look at these costs of these programs as you know it within about ten years all of our tax revenues at the federal -- From the income tax are gonna go just -- -- Entitlement programs -- no money left over to pay for.
For all of the other programs of the government and I invited very suspicious and uninteresting as you do Charles that here we have -- talk about this fiscal but for the last couple weeks -- and nobody's talking about reforming these things.
And here's the thing the election is already be got some ideas don't worry about their own granny granny -- Let it out there you know -- got a couple years to do damage control but ultimately.
If everyone's got their had to send down a Washington didn't do we just somehow hit this report by the ways they've.
We haven't talked about the interest on all the debt that we go between at any of the -- programs.
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- How great -- point by the way you know when I talk about the exploding costs of entitlements there is something growing faster than entitlement costs.
That's interest on the -- which actually in ten years will be the most expensive single program in the federal budget but.
You know it's hard to reform these programs when that when the Democrats and the and the unions -- unions are wrong that's actually the Democrat party the first thing they sat in their press conference after the that would present Obama is we're not gonna tolerate any any any reductions.
And any of these programs so it makes it very difficult.
To to do anything about reforming -- when you have one party that doesn't want to do it.
So.
You know defenses -- centerpiece of the fiscal clip on the spending side.
At some point it would be up to the Republican to somehow convince the American public.
That you know legendary have to and we have to perform these things in order to save these things so.
You know to a large degree we have to be concerned that listen that they're not articulating this -- to the point work.
People are saying no I'm not -- I'm not ready to -- even -- that did the irony of course is that.
You know any sort of -- that any reasonable person would suggest would hit anyone.
Older than forty years.
All right now.
But what was depressing there -- a lot of things that were depressing about the election but I think one of the smaller press that most depressing thing as.
I don't but I don't really think Charles that the American people really care that much about the Dobson I mean it certainly didn't voters if they get and then when it comes to these entitlement programs that you're talking about.
You know no matter what your party is -- whether you agree with Paul Ryan are not having Paul Ryan did put some pretty bold initiatives try to bring these costs down.
And people just rejected it so I I think we took a step back in this last election in terms of fixing these programs.
Well now having having said that you know a lot of people say why paid in the Social Security -- -- -- that.
But you know.
Medicaid.
Certainly after obamacare I don't see how Medicaid can hold up I mean I think that they're gonna collapse a lot sooner than any -- in -- any economist has forecast.
And you know what Charles there's a good reason why that program I agree with you that may be the first entitlement program we actually do -- and here's the reason why.
Not because it's bankrupting Washington can watch as the backdrop for fifteen years.
The reason we're probably pick citizens bankrupting the states on -- -- the -- pay about 40% of the costs and every governor I talked to finally you've got a lot of governors basically can't afford this anymore it is it is now becoming that pat.
-- out of our budget just eating up everything else our entire state budget so.
I agree with -- that -- the program we explorer's and you know -- to your point states cannot print money Steve -- Wall Street Journal that the balance the budget have a -- -- -- novel idea like everybody else out there are things like -- have a great things gives out future happy Thanksgiving all right we'll have to deal.
