In contrast what we've seen -- huge seasonal firings of some of the Big Ten and big box retailers and back.
That's -- the small business owner does not plan to hire for seasonal help.
And that's -- for a couple of reasons I think there's still some trepidation out there in terms of post holiday and what that might mean -- increasingly online is helping them.
-- grow their revenue bases well and so.
-- while people are thinking about small business vs big box retailer he got it online components.

Dean they're brand -- that's all about price.
And so what they are focusing on arms you know their FaceBook fan pages you know sites like -- -- -- can actually connect the dots between sending them believe you're a customer.
Right to their website so they are headed experiment in all the -- and -- zeroing in on what's working -- out for them and what's not.
Okay and how about daily deals TC is all businesses doing to Groupon living social kind of events.

The small businesses and or any business should be a little bit personal about how -- they share information on Twitter on FaceBook.
I think -- -- there I think entrepreneurs specifically.
Because people don't necessarily connect with company name or logo on the return for someone that they can relate to.
OK so the more you can be a little bit personal should share some stories about your personal life experience -- what.
I mean just like hanging out with friends or even just like.
Your daily routine a little baby don't you don't want -- always -- like -- -- -- eating for breakfast obviously what you wanna just share a little bit of personal touches on her life.
OK but then also makes you susceptible and vulnerable well people like vulnerability if you give up -- did split it well yeah maybe in the newsroom but yeah.
I didn't run for yours is not thanks so so for entrepreneurs out there share some wedding photos.
Baby announcements -- that was anomaly to you you're me you want it would want -- -- -- if you have a business Twitter account you should also have.
Soledad because -- the business account you're going to be sharing more industry related stuff friends about your company.

Maybe she connect to -- can connect -- -- as well Democrat.
We -- full -- of tips or or what exactly -- nor should be tweeting about so person honest without mistakes and lessons.
I think when you share about your mistake I mean.
No more transparent you are I think the better and we're not always perfect so if you make -- your business.
And sure about it don't you know me don't talk about everything that happened -- your little bit about the mistakes of people to know one option.
OK so basically saying.
We messed up this is what we did this yeah I would hit -- what I -- and exactly I mean -- may be with your newsletter may be with your site went down talk about why it.
And -- also opens up question and answer the section a dialogue with -- customers you're Paris this share wisdom from outside the world of.
Yes so if you know there's there's.
I like to share inspiring sports quotes -- a sports guy and I think it inspires other people is it their share or more are on Twitter and people like to -- -- people like to comment on them it.
You know -- some type of imagination forms -- share some of their ancient -- things which your.

While I talk about things if you want to build your audience you should create your own specific targeted industry group -- -- where they can then message a larger audience -- people's -- just one -- one interaction.
So critical of Farmington.
How many followers to -- I think close to a 100000.

And and together that's a 100000.
A 100000 for myself personally.
The nights but have -- grown that -- OJ Simpson or four years yes yes a lot of time and energy to to cultivate relationships and he.
I have the audience a lot of friends who dabble here and there it.
They're just very entrepreneurial they do a lot of things that and that's that they constantly say they're like we need to up our FaceBook members there -- -- numbers and our Twitter numbers.
Because what we're booked -- These different companies that's that they want to know what our social sphere now influences.
-- -- that other companies to do any tips about besides getting a little personal.
I think -- in order to grow your audience and Twitter and FaceBook and always sites you've got to -- some of the things we're talking about today but really.
Sharing more interest in content that's helpful for your specific audience so.
If you're writing articles or your videos and make -- sharing that your audience so that that could share it around to other networks and we'll start falling back -- You do that without looking like your -- You want to make sure you're doing you know.
A mixture of sharing other people's content that's specifically related to your audience but also your -- content itself.
As -- -- given good resources tips guides facts.
You're answering questions.
You know it -- in my opinion.
Don't drag every now and then I think it's OK -- there's one -- you you build your audience but.

Let us thank you so much for coming on and now will be back with some information about how to connect businesses.
On FaceBook after this break.
Welcome back online cement that hairy question of the day up on the screen -- spend more this year on holiday.
And he did last year how generous are you gonna feel.
I don't -- -- influence here there's your answer but I will let you know that a recent study shows that 85% of us 85%.
Said we are gonna spend the same or less.
And we did last year and that's terrible news for the economy with maybe 15%.
Actually being more generous I know it's expensive but let us know what you think we'll bring -- -- a little bit later in the day.
All right we've got three guests joining us right now.
As we try to connect that the social elements that is FaceBook.
And businesses and how you can use FaceBook literally at your virtual storefront we have Chris Bennett the CEO of -- -- joining us from San Francisco high crest.
Hulu and we have bolt from -- less the accessory options co owners.
I haven't you and Kristin Helm and I didn't OK so we got -- I know -- is -- and let's begin with matches is Chris what is sold statement didn't.
-- so -- is it's a way for him is a platform that allows retailers.
To sell their products on FaceBook.
-- -- -- And so essentially we work with the retailers so that they can sell products do their FaceBook fan page yeah.
And what they do -- you post a photo something you'd like to sell.
And you tell your customers to -- sold in the comments okay.
I to complete two SNC initiate the transaction and then there's a lot that goes on to essentially complete the transaction when and so instead it.
-- -- Yes so we started the company about.
About two years ago and we started working on this idea about six months ago.
All right so your new company and he's seen success they -- -- market -- -- you know.
Yeah I am -- in -- can talk more about you know how it works essentially how it's written for the company but.
You know entrepreneurs a Christian and -- are building really awesome.
Awesome businesses on FaceBook and weird you know just working with them so they can be successful okay so Cheney -- -- you start telling us had a.
You hook up with -- and what do you do with your business.
I'm Chris actually -- sounds as if we started our business -- about a year ago.
And were just doing invoicing straight through PayPal so there is a lot of manual labor.
On RNC get that -- and -- After we had sales on our FaceBook page and we heard from Chris saying -- looked into it what they had and the product they were offering and realize that.
It would make our lives a lot easier and save us a lot of time and and just it really has helped to streamline our business in the process of selling through FaceBook.
Yes OK good congratulations.
On that night how long had an accessory auction and a fan and business.
We started last October so and just about a year and and it's just -- really quickly and you know we're constantly looking for new ways to streamline things and and and be able to grow and face -- a great platform to.
Sell things on it really is very work intensive so.
Company Neitzel they have really.
You -- helped us to be able to grow and do more than what we're -- before we have been OK awesome and Crist and you wanna justifying -- sales growth over the past year.
Sir we started out.
A year ago not -- ends Adam started out with it says.
You never reaching our friends and family her face back and asking him to -- like arcades on and face back and we had about sooner fans begin went.
And I would say within six months we had granted 20000 fans and man.
That's -- we kind of saw ourselves.
You know flat lining and really had to reach out and start -- seeing and doing other means says that I'm reaching fans how many end up right now.
We have 32000 cancer -- -- and that was a nice jump and are you exclusive I had and they stuck.
We are exclusively on FaceBook connect -- was -- that decision.
Well leave though -- added at that time a year ago had sought on face back for baby klan's -- and saw what is successful.
Platform face that quiet for small businesses.
And we get a little bit of research and looked around and saw that there weren't any other.
Businesses selling accessories.
Clothes or anything like that -- -- We just thought we can decide instead Cheney can you tell me about senator merchandise -- we -- on the -- that didn't.
Sir -- -- were wearing some of our merchandise I think -- really.
We actually started designing and scarves the scarf that I'm wearing is an exclusive access reactions design.
The -- necklace that -- has -- is also really popular -- those in all different colors and bracelets earrings off any jewelry and that we started kind of expanding.
Two home games and and handbags.
And we want to keep expanding to apparel and more cat -- Gift items yeah.
So we'll see a lot.
Accents -- that big item and they -- in recent years because it's kind of like to consumers watching their budget and an accessories awaited change the look of something.
At a nominal nominal price for the most part and I say -- really -- -- stand.
The bubble that list I believe to get crews started this over a year ago really excellent site priced at a 150 dollars I know because -- -- one of the first ones.
Being on the everywhere from -- twenty and thirty dollars -- -- and I don't think that's a.
And yeah he's this document and then her -- But that's why we wanted to do this because and girls like us like a lot of Doreen -- you -- worsening different with every outfit and and for different occasions and we knew that if we sold interface that we did and have a really low price point because our overhead is less and then -- You know and retail store or and paying for web site so.
That was kind of -- point behind this we wanted to have really.
Well priced in expensive jewelry at around it's really -- -- still -- we see in the retail stores are I -- -- -- for -- but really quickly what is your return policy.
And we are return policy is all sales final that we are very big on good customer service -- There's that specific reason someone doesn't like something we definitely will work with them.
I like it Chris Bennett -- round -- -- just yet unanswered unless you -- viewers that many times have you had a meeting about things and can anyone read this he says.
-- sold -- have to pay FaceBook for each transaction.
No no we don't we are just so.
So we're cents -- -- company like like Zynga are played -- anyone who's building an application on FaceBook and so we actually don't have to pay them anything we're just another application on top of FaceBook.
And are you worried.
C spokesman in the news basically since they IPO in -- A lot of critics out there a lot of people uncomfortable with -- business model with the way they can generate or if they can keep generating revenue.
What are your personal issues or concerns going forward.
Some well you know I'm of the FaceBook generation I started using FaceBook when I was a freshman college and have been active users since I'd.
Someone -- that I'm one of the people in this country that really embraces FaceBook and Twitter and interest and other -- social media.
Web sites out there so I'm a big believer in the platform and all the other platforms that are out there.
Any concerns he knows.
This has been.
Sold he's been growing really fast and so you know keeping up with.
All the growth and all the opportunities that we see -- just been pretty challenging so.
That's one thing and in just and by that I mean serving our customers you know building out all the features -- customers need.
Getting those out in the right way it is it's hard but it's a lot of fun so I think that's our biggest concern right now.
Just can we get all the stuff out that we want to build as fast as possible.
Okay it isn't -- -- gone gone from the -- chat again.
Isn't she -- use FaceBook and web site.
I would I would argue that I would argue yes.
With the website let's say you're gonna go and create a website and put all your products on there.
I'm you know just sits on the web you have to -- -- to get traffic to your website and you have to pay -- A certain CR you're gonna you're gonna have to spend money to get traffic are you gonna have to work with a lot of bloggers and two to promote your page whereas with FaceBook.
You know -- as a dating -- were saying you know you can go from 20/20 likes to until -- -- 220000.
Without spending too much money are spending little money -- spending any money and I think that is.
That's a really huge opportunity how are -- Goes -- media.
But do you have idea -- sold C dot com the web site.
Me personally or -- -- outside.
I am sorry it's sold Z dot com yet so if you go to the website you get.
I'm an emerging can sign up and start selling on FaceBook okay when did do need a website like -- just only -- on FaceBook.
I see so it's I mean we have landing page for our company so.
If you're aid if you want to you know learn more about salty or sell and so do you go to sold -- -- -- But if you want to you know -- of a place to sell on your web site.
No we don't actually provide that we're only on FaceBook because.
Argument is that there is just it's just a it's a great place to to start selling and so -- and we're building -- a lot of features to help people solve this month.
Chris Bennett thank you so much and thank you to the owners of accessory options -- -- increased in Helmand.
Thanks for coming on sharing you raise your successes your items that you.
That you sell and happier early Thanksgiving enjoy your day tomorrow and good luck on Friday.
And Cyber Monday in this weekend says hopefully everybody.
Spends their money -- -- their pent up demand out there are right once again questioned the day at least that -- holiday gifts this year than you did last year.
Resulting -- Probably not.
Felt we -- -- well and yet there they are.
No laugh out look at that I can't see from this -- and I -- the bars really long for now what -- -- -- -- 5% said.
