Sometimes the secret behind a successful CEO is simply someone who gives the great advice to build upon what's already there.
What we have -- mentor who helps top CEOs do just that he's made more than fifty people out there multimillionaires.
He has an exclusive list of clients Citi mentors.
And takes on only about ten every three years but you are getting his advice from right here right now.
This is a lot of free advice about -- joining us now for a Fox Business exclusive exclusive is David C and -- here's the mentor.
And author of the new book breakthrough -- it is a great pleasure to have -- thank you very much for coming -- First off yes the folks out there watching this segment think you know I'm not living up to my potential on not doing exactly what I know -- can do.
Even if I'm in the right job I'm not -- performing as they should be able to perform.
What's the first question the person like that should ask -- so.
I think.
Actually the -- it's in your question which is am I being the best version of myself.
As a manager as a colleague as a bosses -- -- -- and I think.
99% of people on this planet knows that there's always -- five degree course correction that they can make him what they're doing to be a better version of themselves.
And let's face if we made -- five degree course correction.
Every week for twenty weeks -- end up a 100%.
Changed at the end of that period of time so.
I think if that's a really great question how am I being the best version of myself and everything I'm doing.
Well you know and then it becomes a question of what should I be feeling right now -- the fight if I know I can be better than that what should success feel like.
You talk about that as a question as it seems a little a more -- can you kind of dig down and describe how somebody can ask themselves a question and then become better.
And I think that the success is directly linked to happiness.
And and wealth rather than money.
And money well the two very different things.
And actually the end of the day we don't like under performing Arab potential.
No one does if I know I can be embedded dad about a colleague about the boss I don't like not being the desperate for myself.
However changes actually very difficult for people and most people on not -- of the self motivated and self managing.
Two stopped a change program.
That's why won't top sports people have a -- that's why would program but Weight -- is so successful because this kind of peer pressure and peer mentoring.
And that's why one of the things that I encourage everybody to do is to get -- mental.
And to be a mentor.
And it's both of those it's kind of the union the act.
Because if you.
And have a -- someone is gonna hold due to account -- defeats the five guide you teach you show you whatever.
But -- have given notice that when you try and teach someone else you put yourself.
In their off on a pedestal and away and you want to make sure your delivery during your -- -- -- You're living -- -- teacher -- apparently in that regard let me you sesame -- is different she wealth.
And money there is a great writer -- George -- and so that also some -- just something that you have.
Wealthy is that capacity the ability to create something new you may have zero money but -- -- very wealthy person because you can create something new.
Should you look at where he -- and say if I'm in a position where -- can't create something new I should change that position.
I think that's.
If you on optimizing your potential.
If you are not following you in north stock -- not being the best version of yourself.
Then.
There's always something that you can do to get in deserve the cycle that -- either at the same place.
Even if you don't quit and say I'm gonna go somewhere else and try it I think 99%.
To people who could be an all -- lot happier staying in the company there in.
But we're doing the right thing in doing it the right way and perhaps.
This.
You were -- were talking about a five degree change you know if you're going around and around in -- circle and an in your book by the way I were highly recommend this because I could not put it down.
You know -- you're going around the earth in a rocket ship if you just -- -- five degrees.
-- -- -- -- -- How do you -- by five to -- David.
And it's a lot easier -- -- by five degree out of the fifty did Jesus and that I mean a lot of people are worried about change thinking I need to give up everything and do a complete U turn.
It's not like that it -- and -- Take for example.
A company that I -- with few years ago.
When I first thought of working with a company they had 25%.
Stuff turned over.
Every single yeah.
And the C I didn't -- -- that was a problem but they were in a year -- walk away from an IP.
And of course why would people need to an easier way from IP -- will.
Of course we -- -- exit interviews to find out what people -- leaving and they will ten major reasons the ninth of which was money.
You know my Boston listens to me -- said thank you know until we want to do -- -- So actually what we did over the next twelve months was put in place five degree course corrections.
That made each one of those issues go away.
Well guess what at the end of the year the company had.
Double the revenues -- the profits a 100% improvement employee engagement took a series of five degree course corrections.
Ended up with the individual was a lot happy.
Well and the company an awful lot more profit.
Time we have to have your for an hour and a very severe rap but I -- just have to ask you on apple.
Is apple in need of one of these major -- course corrections right now is that why it's stock is -- And I'd never like to come and an individual companies but I think that any company that has.
Grown and grown and grown and as.
Amazingly successful is apple has at some point has to stop and think we can't keep growing -- this with out perhaps.
I knew.
-- -- course corrections.
I'm in the amount of money that apple has in -- and his spokeswoman is big in the many countries so.
It probably does need to think about how it needs a new direction.
Just do as well in the next -- is -- done in the last what is.
The book is breakthrough -- and his attorney.
