Nation joining us now on the former governor of Arkansas host of our -- -- impart -- news -- Mike Huckabee also the author of the brand -- -- Dear Chandler dear starlet -- grandfathers spots on faith and we have things that matter most.

It is really.

Speculative but -- congratulations on the new book the thank you I thought we needed something other than politics for a while while I'm sick -- it.

Well -- in two billion dollars in what are we have.

This say it's like been song but I -- meet the new boss same as the old boss right.

And in the were in line I -- to those politics are desperately -- here prevail I wanna go to.

First your reaction to the fact that.

The -- supposed to be the smartest man in the military when you.

Was there.

Turns out to be as head of the CIA the -- spy we ever -- Not a good week.

Or for spies it's almost like something out of Mad Magazine and when you add to the drama with general Allen and this ever expanding the scandal it's it's tragic it's tragic for their families it's tragic for all the people who served with them it's tragic for America.

You know in its.

Pardon there that you supports tragic perhaps yes.

It seems to me we've become a society and in our various institutions including the military.

It seems there -- no consequences there sit there and in -- for aircraft flying all around or stars three stars whatever it takes.

And live and a pretty strong why.

And this guy who's been credited with so much actually was the architect and the guy who presided over the longest conflict in American history -- conflict we have more.

How does that how does that target to be -- To his credit I believe we've got to give General Petraeus credit when many of us were sitting at home -- feet propped up in and -- a nice warm cup of coffee.

-- he was leading men and tobacco.

He's paid a price you know person becomes a general officer without steady hard slog up to the top.

And I have extraordinary respect for these folks and they may want to limit -- -- -- out I'm never gonna -- you said these folks now let me be really clear all right no one.

No one respects or supports more armed military and I do so I really old world if you will okay give me indulge the world -- I'm talking about a man who just sent the CIA down.

I write down the gutter I'm not gonna defend what he did with Paula -- what you can't you -- why don't why don't we.

Are we trying to get to what's going on here why in the world are we putting up with this kind of announcement -- -- we recognizing that there's a culture in the military.

And in Washington right now that we need to get a hold it's a bigger culture than the military.

And that's a culture all over our society look at the entertainment -- a look at the sports world that there's virtually no part of our culture in which people don't feel that.

They don't have to be faithful to their promises to their spouses to their families to their jobs.

Other CEO of -- trying to think the -- Lockheed mark Lockheed Martin just today.

Himself you know forced out.

That this is -- -- it's a pattern and it's not limited to the military it permeates the entire American culture because we've said.

That we can pretty much do what we want to we've we've tried we've spent a generation saying there -- no such thing as morality that it's -- fashion that there is not.

Such as that would be -- generate right in mind that's exactly right Lou we grew up with no fault divorce.

With live and let live and free drugs and free sex and you know what what do we expect.

And I think what we're doing we planted seeds when we were young and now those seats have turned into full borne fruit and it's choking us.

And and and the way forward here.

What do you think happens -- -- positive out of all of this is that I believe that this will trigger.

An absolute certainty of an investigation into what really happened and -- Right now we're not talking about -- Ghazi we should that's the real issue.

Working Colorado volatile Pittsburgh and I am on my radio and television show you but it's not yet.

Permeated the mainstream media they're not going to be able to ignore it as a result of these scandals that now we'll bring attention to it that never would have before.

You know in in in that respect in -- in the most perverse manner.

Petraeus -- might have -- the nation's surface to -- at least a portion of the damage that he has -- the agency the government.

In the country with his conduct.

I wanna turn to if I may.

Your show you can do whatever I want I know him because because I feel compelled to talk us on the science politics because you're lament about politics yes yeah.

I -- and I'm going that's -- to Mike Huckabee.

Up and their challenger style of a -- thoughts on faith family and things that matter most we aren't the very least from talk about the things that matter most here.

As we talked.

What you know I love the fact that your embracing your grandchildren -- gonna -- -- -- felt kind of problem.

All you should and in families so important.

Well you know we were just talking about what's wrong in our culture I'll tell you what's wrong we're not passing down to the next generation a sense how do right.

We're not passing down -- down to them the sense that there is something is.

And as important as honor duty.

Respect responsibility.

What I wanted to do in this book this is written for every parent every grandparent.

I know my grandkids are gonna read this on long gone they'll be in their forties or fifties before they'll care but there'll come a time when they're gonna want to connect with the people above them.

In order the connect with the people who are coming after them.

And and I think it's very important that we help is trying to say look we've made some real mistakes.

But here are the things that matter work.

It matters to have respect for your parents it matters to understand the world which you -- -- it matters.

Understand who god is it matters I think about the purpose of pain and suffering -- lot so that's what this book does.

Honestly think it's a perfect Segway.

Because that's what's wrong with our culture -- we have a don't let -- have any responsibility let somebody else pay the price I just wanna have a good time inhabit today.

I have -- certainly I didn't have a opt out of everybody's life so why is Mike Huckabee the book is there Chandler dear Scarlett.

Terrific I Iowa banks.
