McConnell -- -- and here we are eleven days plus after hurricane sandy passed over and boy was only hours ago that New York City.

And Long Island's begin enforcing gas rationing and responses on -- gas crisis in the area New Jersey -- remembered already done it.

Adam Shapiro force and Hess station midtown Manhattan with how things are going there -- -- And these are going very smoothly coddled when you take into consideration that they're still 750000.

People.

In the New Jersey New York -- bought an area that don't have electricity that includes the gas stations on Long Island that that metric -- something like 80% of the gas stations are not.

Pumping gas either because they don't have electricity but -- not able to get gasoline to the station that they can open up others about -- this -- you see something right here.

These are people have been waiting in line not hours upon hours -- actually 1015 minutes.

The even ought to rationing that New York City started this morning which is similar to what New Jersey is doing.

Is working I've spoken to different drivers they say that the line -- out of 42 street 1015 minute wait they're very happy to have no problem.

With the way this is going if you have a license plate that ends in an odd number that you fill up on an odd day if you have a license plate is -- letters.

Then you fill up on an odd day there are exemptions of course the taxis -- went back into the side of the taxis the -- reason some of the commercial trucks as well as doctors are allowed to fill up whenever.

And if you're looking for gasoline for your generator and you're gonna have I cat is not a lot got.

You don't have to -- either so there's no problem with people getting gas it seems to be alleviating the problems that led to those.

Hour upon hour waits for a lot of drivers Connell thought a lot of you've already said -- why didn't they do this -- why -- follow what Chris Christie Governor Christie done in New Jersey earlier as the winds will be shorter.

But I'll see you hit on a key point out of I don't know if you could expand on it at all but the idea of getting the gasoline where it needs to -- it's not even so -- the power for a lot of these stations that they don't.

They don't have gas and it in New York -- Long Island.

Right and a part of the problem is that some of the terminals where the gasoline is broad and then it's stored then it's dispersed through tanker trucks.

Some of those terminals are still damaged one of the -- pipelines that -- gasoline out to Long Island is back up and running according to Mayor Bloomberg but that's part of the infrastructure problem they're having in delivering gasoline.

To those stations on the island which.

Are still shut down the other thing is that Governor Cuomo says that the economic impact from this hurricane and its aftermath it's going to be around 33 billion dollars that's just New York.

They're already talking about the cost of our hurricane sandy and its aftermath -- about fifty billion dollars for everybody it's going to be an historic.

Historic bail.

That is sure -- and it's already been an historic storm and to some brutal one for somebody people out of -- there -- part of the story on the gasoline in New York.
