-- -- And -- taxes looming got all of that in addition to looking towards a compromise on that senator Harry -- so look I wanna deal with a completely different issue via but it was raised by senator Harry Reid.

He is sticking to present a -- was green agenda.

He's focusing on a totally separate issue via back -- climate change just listen -- this.

-- changes and extremely important issue for me and I hope we can address it reasonably -- something as we've seen with these storms are overwhelming our country and the world.

We need to do something about it.

Well you know the left really did jump right on sending the hurricane jumped on -- from the beginning.

Use it as an example to push climate change that climate change agenda.

Joining us now is Bob -- from NRDC action.

Bob welcome to the program yet you know I've often argued in the past about what it would go global warming -- -- -- storms are the result of global warming.

I wanna put all of that on the side today let's not let's not do about it.

I'm coming to you for information.

I want you to tell us what kind of policies are on the agenda for president Obama's second -- when it comes to climate change got.

Three things -- first of all we all need to rally around this public mandate to address the cut carbon pollution that's warming the planet that's important because our politics has been divided on this the public is united that's -- we saw on Tuesday -- -- -- that -- definitely -- -- -- drug that you want us to use -- to rally around the mandate right so that's you you're trying to rally public opinion that's that's -- -- item number one correct.

Well because what we -- was a very clear choice here we had Mitt Romney saying -- a joke we have President Obama saying it's a threat.

And it states all across the country people rallied around a candidate who recognize the signs recognized that threaten promised to do something about that is number want to admit publicist walked policy will the president as soon.

Number one we need to go after.

The carbon emissions from our power plants this country that is the single largest source of the industrial carbon pollution that's changing the climate warming the planet how do we do involved how do we do it.

Well the EPA of course is.

Propose some standards.

To reduce carbon emissions from new plants we need to now turn that toward existing plants so that we get this carbon reduced in our -- So people want that reduced I'm not all doom with you I'm -- that's the policy.

If you -- tighter emissions on existing plants on -- back is going to cost money.

That will raise the cost of electricity generation I think -- agreement that.

-- we will raise the cost of pollution Stewart I'll agree with that it so it says that if you're going to be polluting the air -- going to be dumping tons of carbon emissions into the air.

That needs to stop and we have -- number ways to figure out how to do that -- Bob I'm unless and unless I'm not a -- unless India billion dollar and he'd -- most important and the final thing is of course to and to invest in building the clean energy economy of the future that means energy efficiency for all of us that we do more with less.

It means renewables and finally it means putting a stop.

To ideas that would make matters worse like the keystone XL pipeline which would take the dirty -- the -- on the planet pipe it through the American breadbasket to ship it to China through Gulf of Mexico.

It's not a good idea for the country it's just about -- profits so that's the kind of thing we're talking well.

-- -- -- -- -- I've got plenty of room for disagreement Bev and I'm determined to back off I simply want you to tell -- viewers never investors.

I want it and you told them exactly what to expect in terms -- policy.

And how it's gonna hit them I understand and -- so you're gonna clamp down on existing power plants clamp down their emissions that will cost money.

And you gonna double down on green energy production and number three no pipeline of -- summarized it okay.

Yes -- because the idea is to give us clean energy options so that we can move forward in a way that reduces these carbon emissions that are warming the -- price -- -- again I didn't wanna argue with you about any of this I just wanna know well we -- -- in terms of policy with another four years of President Obama and give it to us and I appreciate that -- Upcoming end soon I will discuss these policy is as they -- -- okay.

Thank you Stuart thank you.
