Asia later this month decision -- coming as the clock continues OK now as a fiscal cliff which we've talked about Tom Corbett is the Republican governor of Pennsylvania Johnson Harrisburg right now.
-- is the thing is our governor we have to a place do you think where.
A presidential trip overseas it deserves some scrutiny when everybody knows need to get to work in the fiscal cliff or does -- need to manage wealth.
Well I have to say the first thing in my mind -- firing that position.
Is I have to manage the the fiscal cliff we have to resolve that issue.
We have the issue sequestration also have and to be gory yet out of the country at this point time.
With what seven weeks left in the year and the congress doing -- for a short period of time.
I I find surprising decision -- what -- Would you say then whether it's -- here there on the phone or anything in terms and that it actually getting something done this time.
On the fiscal -- we were wondering earlier anything have been learned from the last set of negotiations when they couldn't get it decided where they wanted CO.
People speculating that the president would bring Doug Clinton and to negotiate on his behalf of the just try something different.
What do you think they should do.
Well I think -- need to be sitting down around a table.
24 hours a day seven days a week until -- get this resolved we have a short period of time -- get this resolved I think a lot of people.
In the country don't understand how dangerous this is right to the country how dangerous it is to business into the economy.
They need to get this done to be taking trips or to not be sitting at a table discussing this is a mistake.
And it has to be done in a bipartisan way and everybody has to give a little bit.
I've been talking to people about what the effect is for the fiscal cliff to the states -- it is from the state.
To the counties and municipalities and school districts it's going to affect everybody most importantly it's gonna affect the economy in the United States at a time that we can least afford it.
Right that affect macro on the economy what's that -- one example of how to hide what you're thinking about Pennsylvania you're worried about.
Quote from an economy standpoint if we have a slow -- right now we're just straight to see the economy Pennsylvania start to turn around.
We've had the ability to -- 80000 private sector jobs and the last nineteen months right I don't -- to see that go away because this is -- time that we need to be adding jobs not subtracting jobs.
Thank you talked about everybody has to -- something you know a thing or two about.
They're Republican governor estate -- while this time around what the Democrats it's a this is swing state met the governor Romney thought at the end he might when it.
On the democratic side I'm sure you think the president has to give on things like entitlements and be willing to cut them.
What about on your side of the -- for the Republicans.
What what and what they did they need to give bond without giving away too much and so get a deal done thank.
Well not being -- -- -- all the different conversations is little hard for me say but.
I think right now the country is most important and the future the country's most important.
More so than policy.
And -- -- but the opposition Zanu higher taxes -- more revenue I think had I think that we we have to look -- we have to look at where we can create revenue.
One of the ways I think we -- revenue isn't necessarily higher taxes.
We've we've seen 21 tax increases under the first term of the Obama administration.
I think it means controlling our spending in controlling our taxes to allow the economy grew out of jobs -- -- Lot of people talk about whether and a big time tax reform you know.
Something like 9086 but we'll -- governor Corbett thank you thanks for coming on to.
