-- -- assistant to president George W.

Bush -- -- also with us bestselling author -- Klein -- governor bonds both dollar the -- on the Obama administration.

This is Scott Brown.

This is as if they were the Obama team did not.

-- -- just knew exactly what would unfold that's how together they were and it was the inverse.

For the Romney -- That's correct -- looked at the campaign never ended for Obama after 2008.

As matter of fact he kept -- people and Ohio expanded his operations also his presidency knew what he had to do the work Ohio we visit Ohio about.

Eighty times since he's been president and there and -- Republicans -- -- we knew we had to do and we shirk their responsibility with regard to the outreach.

That's necessary it's not Lou you can ask somebody to vote and and can go to the only when you need their vote no you have to.

Court their vote you have to give them a reason an affinity.

Not only to vote for your party but to vote for your candidate and we shirk their responsibility would women with Hispanics with African Americans would -- And if we're going to have success in the future we better give these folks a reason not only have updated our party but haven't -- -- candidates we select.

At -- I mean the Republicans didn't even turn out to party to vote I mean there's just all over 6%.

Just simply weren't there behind the Democrats the Democrats were supposed to be on -- they weren't supposed to have all that intensity the Republicans work and good grief.

Those -- -- to showing up and I understand that become the cost per head that the Republicans -- that way with many times more than the Democrats that they bought them late.

And they bought them in the very efficient way so the whole campaign was this shock through within efficiency -- -- is easy for the Republicans to raise money next time after watching that you know I'm thinking.

People talking about is there a silver lining for the Republicans.

And if there's no doubt there are a lot of attractive.

Potential candidates.

Bobby Jindal Nikki Haley -- -- merrier rubio.

Mark mark Marco Rubio sorry go on and on but the question is.

That's good will the base.

Which controls the primary.

Situation who controls the primary mechanics will the -- go for any of these people.

These populist conservatives over value conservatives -- how do you react to to that question in let me -- -- another because I was talking.

With someone -- -- not and who said basically.

That the Republican Party has a strange feel of being something -- rights bravest.

-- -- hat in his hand goes around to a bunch of corporate donors and calls that a political party.

I and I have to ask you I mean is that is it really that bad.

It's.

No it's not that bad but we need to do is we need to get back to basics we have a party great principal and look.

That you can be a member of the put -- Republican Party and believe.

99% of what the platform.

30% a platform but if you wanna be a member of a party I would assume you -- -- at least believe.

Thirty 51%.

You wanna believe that a majority of what the party stands for so we have -- have a big tent and encourage people to come in and not be afraid to disagree.

We'd wind -- party members.

But look it's not our way of the highway and unless we reach out to people who who would have an affinity to join us -- the problem is we've taken it for granted.

And we need them we need them to be a successful party.

And more importantly than that.

What America needs.

Good qualified candidates within the Republican Party that look like America -- you know truth -- America does.

If I may say Browne American needs those leaders.

Are with exactly those qualifications -- characteristic your right.

But I don't think most Americans really give a darn whether comes from the Republican side -- the democratic side if the Republicans are gonna continue.

-- -- And to put out the quality that they have you're -- that does not garnered the interest the attention -- Of the of the voter.

It's it's immaterial to most Americans -- the parties called Republican or whether it's called you know -- doors.

The fact is.

The Republican Party looks to me as it is often -- it seems to me over the course of the past thirty years to be in dire straits Rebecca.

I agree with -- I think there's a lack of identification.

On the part of the voters with the Republican Party they look at the Republican Party and say that's not me.

The Republican Party has to look more like them not only physically but to convey their very deep feelings as well.

Any prospect here Brad in your judgment that President Obama is sincere and serious and genuine.

About reaching out saying to governor Romney wrote talk -- a few weeks talking your calling up the leadership of the house and the senate today.

They were gonna get some things done.

Is this sincerity -- is this political theater do you think the man.

His.

If you will evolving.

And growing and is president.

Remains to be seen one thing is for sure 2009 he pulled the same -- the this this speech he gave.

Last night as the exact same speech he gave in 2008 when he won.

Now we need to see results the president is forced into a box here he have a mandate to -- -- at less popular.

Boat that he did the last time.

And and so -- burden is on the president now but also more than enough them.

All was in the back.

No no question about it but the the if anybody says the president of mandate.

They're fooling themselves and the other hand the Republicans now have to reach out their hand and if there's good faith tumble fight we're gonna get a lot accomplish -- -- the president.

That's sort of wants to do what he has to do it.

I don't think you're gonna see it.

Personality transplant -- Barack Obama I think you're gonna get the same Barack Obama I found when I did too and interviews -- my book.

Guy who really cannot reach out to -- -- Ronald Reagan reached out to Tip O'Neill come -- over have a drink that's worked things that that's not Prokopec.

And thank you very much Brent thank you.
