-- and joining us now brought -- the anchor of special report on the Fox News Channel are -- host of last night's.
Box election coverage -- his first more congratulate you on that coverage.
Credit just outstanding work has always.
Excellent movie this is we go to first the first demographic slice and dice here.
That I heard every strategists talked with an enabling -- That that -- hand to turn out the white vote he clearly did not in the midst of -- -- that.
We -- -- it was 72 pursue.
End of the white vote for Mitt Romney but he needed a little bit more because of the Obama machine the organization.
Of the Obama campaign.
Really increased did the outpouring of support even from 2008 what -- so hard to believe -- Is that in these demographic categories.
Latinos.
African Americans.
You do -- vote.
Analysts going again and we talked about this ad nauseam were saying there's no way this is going to look like 2008 there's just no way.
And that's one they were looking at all these polls saying.
-- it can't be -- plus seven other words Democrat plus seven turn -- like 2008.
Well it essentially Wallace.
The youth vote went up a point to 19%.
From 2008.
African American vote went up.
In fact -- in Ohio.
If the same number of African Americans turned out as turned out in 2008.
Mitt Romney would've won Ohio.
But that number increased so dramatically.
That erased.
Mitt Romney's ability to win that state.
I will confess I was skeptical of David Axelrod.
His theatrics surrounding his mustache -- gets to retain.
And in the idea that -- -- Operation of the Obama campaign would be as.
Energized and successful.
As it turned out to be.
What are your thoughts on the comparisons.
Between Republican.
And the Obama.
Ground operation.
-- they just they just had a better team they just had a better outfit in all of these places and a lot of people going in were saying why is the Obama campaign spending so much money on infrastructure and all of these offices around the country on.
In in the early months they were spending a lot of money not only on ads going after Mitt Romney to paint him as a corporate raider and all of the Bain Capital stuff.
But also in getting the ground game set up.
Well then you go to Election Day in these battleground states -- there are people with.
Ipads.
Checking actual voters showing up to the polls oh you're.
So and so you're here you know pushing the button.
And they have a list and that was not happening on the Republican side so the operation was a lot more.
Organized and just better all across the board.
And one would have to believe the Republicans will emulate them in granular detail the ground operation.
Come the next election.
I definitely if you lead to long -- -- Catherine Herridge and Jennifer Griffin you from from the outset.
Been Ghazi coverage of -- and during a terrific job of it.
We have followed the story closely here.
It is one of the great surprises to me that that issue barely registered in the exit -- What what was your reaction.
Well I just don't think it broke through.
I think.
Just at the end of the campaign was starting to get the -- Ghazi store was starting to get a little bit more coverage from the mainstream media.
When the CBS tape came out two days before the election from sixty minutes that additional.
Footage of President Obama talking about -- this.
Asked specifically whether it was a terrorist attack right after his Rose Garden -- speech.
And didn't answer that question and it kind of was -- different elements of the story but it was too late and the story hadn't been covered.
Really an all -- by many.
Media outlet so it didn't really breakthrough if you look at the exit polls and in fact President Obama when -- came to foreign policy decisions.
Surpassed Mitt Romney who do you trust -- handle a foreign crisis.
We're we're out of time here Brent -- and discuss I don't recall a number that is surprised me more.
In exit poll.
Than the fact that 51%.
Of the people surveyed.
Said that they blamed Obama more than they did -- fifth book every president bush more than a President Obama when it comes to the economy.
And that's a huge deal by the fact that President Bush is still getting blame -- that economy.
Is is something that it's clearly showing up in those poll numbers.
We appreciate it -- thanks so much again.
