Joining us now veteran democratic campaign strategist Fox News contributor -- -- -- former special assistant to president George W.
Bush.
Ron Christie -- -- let's start with these polls we're we're looking out of a race that is right now separated by 110.
A 1%.
-- -- -- your reaction.
It's it's a dead heat it's a dead heat nationally it's a dead heat most of these swing states -- what's.
Fascinating about this if we all been talking about the ground game since you know since April.
And it may be the ground game that decides this an end and more importantly though I mean look -- you can have.
One of these candidates could win all these stakes are so close or when none of them -- they could split them equally and we could you know.
You know -- -- be up all the -- up for several days trying to figure it all out -- that close.
And as you Ron Christie divine momentum here.
To whom do you.
Give momentum if if any exists right now are -- do you see these two men and a -- in that regard as well.
Well good evening live now I think if I was gonna give AS sort of indicator of which man I think has momentum I think it's governor Romney and I'll tell you why.
If you listen to the stump speeches that the two candidates have had not only today as as we go to the weekend.
Governor -- is very optimistic he's very upbeat about how he intends to run the country how he intends to turn things around.
President Obama has been very strident.
He's been it's insulting to his opponent he's been very dismissive and talking more about what governor Romney is all about as opposed -- the president's vision and so.
When you look at those key undecided voters will I think that ultimately they're gonna swing in the governor's direction of we know what President Obama has done but he's not talking about a vision for a second term and I think that very well could hurt him.
Not a vision.
Also -- tribute the president is not responding.
Two questions about.
-- Gaza.
It is clearly.
You an effort to Stonewall the issue that has been successful thanks to a compliant.
Docile passive.
Lap dog national liberal media.
It do you think the voters care any more therefore Americans died in a president refuses to explain.
What happened and who is responsible.
Larry I think I think Romney missed big opportunity at the last debate on foreign policy to push that issue and he didn't take it and I think.
That may have been a mistake on his part and he's he can be paying for that now because I think the press.
Took a cue from him on that not I don't I don't necessarily.
-- think.
There have been a lot of the fear if -- -- Throw that would be one of the few -- they've taken from him Donald that is that is -- -- chart though not open -- saying that -- then you look Romney is not raising this at all anywhere he does not in his stump speech bring it up.
Iraqi -- I think he wants to keep it on the economy -- there may be reasons he doesn't bring it up I'm not.
Lou I'm not I'm not who literally I'm not trying to -- this I just think look he hasn't donate if the opposition isn't gonna do it but -- I'm confused thrown out because I.
Now infused with your reasoning here and that is that suddenly the national media which is done everything it could possibly do.
Dropping all veil of -- pretense here.
Our ands and simply supporting one man in his race to be president in 2008 and now -- for reelection in 2012.
You're suggesting somehow.
The governor Romney was going to influence what they did or did not do.
I don't I.
I'm that's what I've been surprised -- I don't -- saying it I'm saying he could make it a very big issue.
By bright wading -- do it he hasn't done that and so he's not mean.
He that there's one thing about that you you know about how you keep pushing this story.
And it's one thing fur for fox or are you you know or news that's good reporting that -- Just has now stepped into and it has a knowledge yes that fox has been right to ask these questions right -- -- these answers.
I -- are now hearing for Jake Tapper at ABC.
Who's at least chronicling the efforts of others in Washington Post the are including -- all owned the owned.
-- publication of the Washington Post Foreign Policy Magazine.
Now chronicling the documents they found on October 26.
In and then -- at the counselor right.
-- -- -- as the media -- are saying Mitt Romney could put this on the front page of our entire villages they got three -- I was not there showtime show.
I still don't believe -- Well -- -- I might -- me this isn't about governor Romney this is about what I think is a very corrupts.
Actions on the part of the media not to cover this.
And I think it's it's negligence and it's dereliction of duty on behalf of the administration.
Not to have a press conference not to have a timeline of specifically what happens what do the president do that night.
Who to what ordered that he allegedly give -- to protect our folks and why would.
-- -- -- -- Place stipulate we've got a gutless national liberal media.
They haven't got the courage to step up and do their job as the fourth estate as a watchdog over this government.
But at the same time.
We have an electorate that has on November 6 the opportunity to.
To simply vote on whether or not a failure to be square -- the American people.
To run a government in this way is to be frankly tolerated.
Is that not good addition.
I think that is the issue I think this is this is the sleeper issue this campaign ever once focused Odyssey -- the campaign.
But I think a lot of Americans a lot of the independents who aren't partisan -- 11 way or the other.
Are looking at two factors one that the media has been compliant this cover up.
And to the president has been forthcoming and I believe that's really gonna hurt him on Tuesday I think that very well could make the difference.
-- Tribune I think I I'm.
Think the use of the word cover -- -- it -- a run I'm saying oh look.
I don't believe there was a cover up now we can now I can get -- -- the next five minutes for saying that we're gonna -- manager noticed this -- this is America here on this front right boy right my point is.
Might might might point is.
You don't give the -- -- gutless and what's with -- why isn't Romney pushing this month there must be a reason -- and it am not blaming him.
I'm saying he wants this to be about the economy he does not wanna go -- charts let's just -- -- and he's making an event.
It is made a choice to roll over and and be a pink -- in the lap of this president and this administration.
I think well if you -- -- your favorite I I and I apologize if you don't like my word coverup.
Because I happen after just about eight weeks the president United States refuses to acknowledge.
Who's responsible.
To take responsibility in a meaningful and substantial way.
And dodge the simplest and most elemental questions.
And and frankly why straightforwardly to the American people.
About.
A video.
On YouTube.
-- -- -- That's the stuff of -- of a cover up yet we'll take -- up on the next conversation.
Let's put an intellectual.
