What people thought would be at least one way to entertain themselves movie theaters forget it throughout New York City and along the eastern sea border closed due to hurricane -- Including a few dozen IMAX theaters how much an impact will this have on IMAX is business and will they be opening their doors tomorrow.

IMAX CEO rich gulf -- on the phone live -- a Fox Business exclusive.

Rich thank you for joining us here in Manhattan right now but obviously.

That the -- are going to remain closed tell us the update of how many and what's gonna happen tomorrow.

Well our theaters -- in old and New York region in New Jersey.

The mid northeast.

Are gonna remain closed today and and tomorrow obviously this -- the -- stay home.

Is the most important consideration.

I think most of the change -- -- reconsider tomorrow around 4 o'clock.

And see what they're gonna do for you know for tomorrow evening though it turns out that is that -- here where there are no.

Blockbusters that really happens when bond opens a day early and IMAX.

Which is a week from this Thursday and that's when you know this season really kicks off kind of a Thanksgiving Christmas season.

And then you know -- like this would be more material it financially at this point it's not really -- material.

Financial matter and obviously we need to protect -- consumers.

OK so the James Bond movie doesn't come out until next Thursday it is out in the UK it is a huge Blockbuster it's called Scott -- that's doing very well but.

So in essence what you're saying is to close all of these theaters and we have them in cities everywhere from 34 street -- Lincoln square as well.

In New York too in the Boston area Chestnut Hill Framingham Boston Common is going to be closed.

Some theaters and Philly Cherry Hill so these are and Jersey garden -- are huge theaters.

That will not materially affect your bottom line if it doesn't know what beyond two days three days.

Yeah I think for the industry as a whole not just -- typically mid -- releases and October especially with Halloween.

Which is only -- moving going night as far as thriller kinds of movies.

-- this is that a big box office week.

I'm so you know up a few days of closure not relative have a material impact.

Up let's talk about the upcoming movies and and the big ones and needless to say our you know you've got the Dark -- -- -- that -- is already passed and done done relatively -- -- the Twilight Saga.

You've got the new Star Trek that's coming out a couple of other big ones what are you most excited about that you feel will.

Really meaningfully affect your earnings in a positive way.

Well I'd like to start in a very short term which is -- they set a week from Thursday bond sky ball.

-- that's exclusively a day earlier in the IMAX so I think that'll be a big thing for us and part of the reason for that is the directors say amend these.

I'm shot a number of those sequences.

The because he was of the mind to format especially Brian Matt W look at our international results this week -- we -- about.

45000 dollars -- screened.

In eighty locations in fifteen territories.

And those results were some of our best.

-- we've ever seen Hewlett some countries -- set records but overall extremely strong so I've got to believe.

That's gonna translate very well into the domestic territories and the international -- hasn't opened yet.

I'm twilight we're only doing internationally because it opens only a week after bond here in the states so it was it was too soon.

I think I'll -- is it's going to be a very large movie the word on -- the -- on the street is extremely good you know very.

Very highly anticipated.

And then for next -- I think we haven't finalized all of us play yet.

But if you look at I think the -- ones to pick out would be Star -- Which is actually filmed in part what IMAX cameras that's JJ Abrams.

Man of steel which Chris Nolan produced.

The Hunger Games a lot of that -- but IMAX cameras again and then a sequel to the Hobbits so I think that a lot of decent blockbusters in the months ahead.

Rich thank you I know it's it's tough to be getting around New York City -- the -- I hope -- safe and sound with your family you're here.

You've waiting it out -- got enough food water.

I -- we live we live in Manhattan and so that's usually not a problem.

I -- but you know -- city folks -- fog is the CEO up IMAX thank you for joining us eighteen theaters closed.

They will reassess at 4 PM tomorrow around them as to whether they will reopen those movie theaters for those of you who are getting a little.

Claustrophobic in your apartments or wherever you're -- after the.
