You -- you got an economy growing at a 2% clip in the most recent quarter but you got two candidates raising a record two billion dollars.

Fund raising on track -- the costly selection in modern US history and Monica Crowley is Fox News contributor and author of -- -- -- just happen.

And it scares and you know what out of me every time I have to say that because I'm might not disabling it -- really I -- -- I don't know that I know what I don't -- -- at all about two billion dollars explain an economy that is so Lachlan it is absolutely incredible we were talking last time around four years ago about the first billion dollar campaign and -- was.

Of course Barack Obama John McCain Barack Obama are raising the major lion share of that last time around about 750.

Million dollars which was astonishing -- up.

Now you have both campaigns Romney and Barack Obama each raising about a billion dollars.

It is incredible what it tells me is that both sides -- released the heavy rollers on both sides see this as the most critical election of their lifetimes.

And and look you're getting a lot of small donors -- not just the big rollers were donating spoke campaigns a lot of small donors more so now coming into the Republican side Mitt Romney.

Then Barack Obama's campaign -- they spend it -- in the -- in the final days of this campaign because.

Debt and to what extent will the Obama campaign still be aggressive and big negative potentially and target the banks well actually governor Romney's campaign has more cash on hand than Barack Obama's remember Barack Obama was not limited.

In his spending throughout this entire year because he didn't have a primary challenger.

So he's been burning through his cash trying to -- governor Romney is some sort of evil vulture capitalist.

That has not worked but he is burned through hundreds of millions of dollars.

Over the last year to do that never governor Romney was limited he couldn't start really spending is general election cash until after he was formally the nominee at the end of August.

So he has his huge war chest.

And what I'm hearing reporting this morning.

Taken is that now he's ready to go to unleash literally hundreds of millions of dollars in TV ads in all of these swing states it well it's great for any of -- dubbed stations great rated networks however is it too late though in terms of saturation.

Our people sick -- -- in the ads and are they less effective.

The closer you get to the -- tell -- here in New York we don't see any ads right because New York -- not contested but I've been traveling through the swing states Colorado Nevada.

In every hotel -- my turn on and this just you're being bombarded with Diaz so I think your saturation point is a good one.

But I do think on the other hand most voters most voters really don't focus on a presidential election.

Until the last month before -- and certainly within.

You know ten days eleven days left until the -- people are now really focused on it so if you're going to reach -- -- ads and mailings and thank -- percent growth in the third quarter it's.

But it's not all well off or good enough to make a difference you know I have fact there -- even saying well not and I think what the united -- this tremendous engine of better than -- it gets -- 9% is to come November sex Friday.

Monica its currency.
