President but my next guest is making sure he's not sitting in the White House for long.

Joining me now John Sununu former governor of New Hampshire and senior advisor to the Romney campaign great -- here governor we really appreciate your time.

Let's not about the economy -- I'm sorry.

Happy Thursday happy Thursday -- as well.

But let's talk about the economy because I would read this plan.

And -- the president's top five points are points that governor Romney made in his five point plan and it almost picks up the language verbatim.

Why should we believe the president is committed to this plan when the economy is -- right now we've seen no results.

Well you shouldn't because he made promises in 2008.

He hasn't kept he was gonna have to deficit.

He double that he increased the debt the debt by about five trillion dollars.

The key issue for voters today is to look forward.

That not backward and and we have to understand.

That that it needs the right -- leadership if I might I'd like to suggest that there was a very important endorsement today.

By the Detroit news in the auto capital of the world in Detroit.

And they endorsed Mitt Romney and although they said they prefer the Obama backed bankruptcy bailout plan to Romney's they pointed to the future.

And and they pointed out that that what Detroit needs is somebody in the White House that understands the auto industry and loves it.

Well not somebody who believes in big gobble it -- point that what are the that would tell GM that would -- GM to build a vote that can't be sold.

-- -- somebody that will take the regulators off the back of the -- worry.

-- -- -- Enterprise go get it here with you that I just gonna build on your point about the economy take a look at this poll Washington Post ABC.

Who do people trust to handle the economy 52% Mitt Romney.

So a lot of people out there are now getting on the bandwagon even though the president just released his jobs plan.

Do you -- That the momentum is there -- expected to reveal his economic plan again and other economic speech tomorrow what's he gonna say.

Well.

Is not gonna change his plan his plan has been steady all along certainly unleashing our oil industry and our natural gas higher energy industry.

Certainly doing a lot for training people that have to take the jobs of the future.

Certainly understanding that incentives will allow the private sector to make the incentive and by the equipment machinery and hire the people.

And and frankly to deal with -- with those fundamental -- that will let this economy move forward.

-- worked in the White House before you know what the pressures are like side you've seen your share of tough economic times.

You know I tell you Mitt -- make -- big promises he wants twelve million people hired over the course of his presidency if he's elected -- meet those goals.

-- -- can look up.

Right now we're only producing about a 100000 jobs a month could produce twelve million jobs in four years you have to produce 250000.

That can be done and it will be done by Mitt Romney.

This this administration degree should now be producing about 500 to 700000.

Jobs if they had -- just paralleled.

The kind of recovery that Ronald Reagan gave the two years after it.

He took office after the carded or the the tough time when in Carter.

Well and that was certainly a much more robust recovery I don't even know can call what we're going through -- recovery or not the big question on Wall Street courses are we gonna hit another recession.

But I wanna turn your attention for a second to an interview the president did with -- -- Moines register.

I think -- this -- -- -- this secret interview this president's secret area to be -- to be secret he didn't wanna be on the record surprising right.

But he Thomas something that people are talking about today that they should know about he promised a grand bargain with Republicans.

To tame the national debt.

Why should we believe that this is gonna happen now.

Well it's not because -- that secret interview we put conditions in there that are just unacceptable this president does not understand how to negotiate.

Does not understand that the tax code ought to be used to raise revenue not to punish.

And that does not understand that significant cuts have to be made in entitlements and then that secret interview.

The one he didn't want the public to see he didn't really make any constructive suggestions as to how bad grand bargain would take place.

Well I it there hasn't been any coming together on the left and right at all and certainly the president hasn't led any effort to do that.

I wanna turn your attention back the economy for just a second because in that interview with the Des Moines Register.

The president said that Mitch McConnell was what was standing in his way getting what he wanted he said.

Mitch McConnell -- imposed an iron -- filibuster from the first day I was in office and that's not speculation I mean this is it's amply recorded he gave a speech saying.

My task is to defeat the president.

With the problem for the president is that Mitch McConnell was in the way.

-- but the president forgot that in the speech which he has misquoted didn't even take place until mid 2010.

He had two years of of controlling the house and the senate.

And -- failed to do anything contrast that with Mitt Romney coming in -- -- 87% Democrats in the Massachusetts house and senate.

And getting them to support a package that turned Massachusetts from a deficit budget.

To a surplus this president doesn't know that bipartisanship.

Starts at the top and ends at the top.

It is the top that has to produce bipartisanship.

And and he wants congress to come walking in.

Bipartisan -- if that's such a word.

Without having to do any hard work himself well the president must lead IR package together for a president that required by -- support.

-- because I'm pretty good run in about town.

And I and I think this is an important issue in the in this campaign is just -- deterioration in the way these two candidates talk to each other particularly the president.

I can't say what he called -- me it was it was basically saying tell him not allies and it starts with bull OK so just -- online latter -- -- class so.

-- why is this so in the mud this camp what is going on and who do you blame.

Look just go back to the last debate if if any of Romney's friends have criticism of him it's that he was too much of a gentleman in the last debate.

And the and the analysis of the president usually includes the -- Smart -- This president started with a class warfare agenda to destroy Mitt Romney.

I I constantly refer to the August 2011 article in which -- Smith put it in Politico after interviewing.

The Obama people on their strategy was called kill Romney the attitude in the language -- the approach they've taken has been so negative that they poisoned the well.

Well it's Chicago style I think governor Sununu -- -- -- -- -- -- it's an absolute pleasure -- -- hope -- come back again thank you -- we'll be back -- X thank you did --
