Both candidates were asked this question about guns.

President Obama during Democratic National Convention in 2008.

You stated you like to keep AK forty -- at the hands of criminals.

What has your administration done or planned to do to limit the availability of assault weapons.

I'm gonna make the value judgment that neither candidate offered -- really specific response to that question.

So joining us now is going Latvia.

Executive vice president of the NRA.

Wayne would you give us your response to the question about lady passed last night.

-- you know -- it's funny Stewart I've made.

It.

The immediate calls me up because -- are you shocked by by the president saying what he said last night and I say wait a minute MI shocked that beneath the president surface he's anti Second Amendment the core no I'm not shocked I mean.

I'm shocked you guys aren't shocked because when I said he was anti Second Amendment you guys said he was pro Second Amendment now you don't act shocked at all the book this is the president.

Before he thought gun owners mattered was for a handgun ban a semi automatic ban.

He was for banning single shot over and under side by side shotguns he was raised in the excise tax on firearms ammunition by 500%.

That's 350 dollars federal tax on a 500 dollar rifle he want to eliminate all right to carry permits in every state.

And it was one of only nine legislators.

In Illinois to vote to jail -- homeowner.

That in the middle of the night used to firearm against the criminal with a rap sheet as long as your arm.

And the president voted to let's go ahead and prosecute that guy that's where cling to your guns and your religion came but he didn't do any of that -- -- I -- as president he hasn't done any of that has -- If he gets a second term.

It's Katy bar the door they're trying to -- this issue to get past this election.

And then I guarantee you I've seen their playbook.

They're gonna go after.

One or two more Supreme Court justices.

And the Second Amendment as an individual right is gone he's -- said he wants to pass some.

Phony assault weapons ban you don't he throws around terms like.

Sprayed bullets weapons of war like our soldiers Hughes doesn't truth count anything in America anymore is that they -- seven -- -- -- us I mean.

I -- -- -- wrong job -- about an AK 47 I think it was a as a battlefield weapon.

Right -- all those guns fully automatic guns all those guns you're talking about sprayed bullets weapons of war like our soldiers later -- Use they've been banned since that authorities that's for the disconnect is.

That's why gun owners are so frustrated in this country the truth doesn't matter they resented as much as -- ranchers.

Down on the border in Texas where that end and Arizona where that Mexican drug cartels are coming through their land every night.

And putting him in danger and the president goes down there and jokes hot hot what do I do put a -- out here put alligators hot -- -- I mean.

The truth needs them -- for something in America anymore is that why gun sales are still very very strong is the fear of a second Tom and what President Obama would do in a second term is that it is not a story.

Yeah they think it's going to be harder to buy -- that the president gets back in May be impossible -- -- so they're buying them now.

But I'll tell -- -- -- on this president I looked up Chicago.

You know where should we all know Chicago's out of control on crime right now we're Chicago the president's political machine.

Where Chicago ranks on federal prosecutions of the gun laws.

Here's a federal data you gotta go through there they -- to deny any difference to add should.

Federal judicial jurisdictions.

You gotta go through one whole page.

You gotta go through another whole page of the ninety jurisdiction.

You get to 89 out in nine.

And you hit Chicago.

On prosecutions.

Of a federal gun laws under this administration.

Against drug dealers with guns gangs with guns and violent felons with guns.

That's why Chicago's out of control the president has dropped grants for prosecution's.

And every street cop knows if you want to control violent crime.

Take violent criminals off the streets we've got the federal got lost to do it the president's doing just the opposite.

-- drop in prosecutions.

And you think -- -- -- -- They're gonna go after the Second Amendment they're not gonna go after criminals you know when Europe frequent guest on this program I don't think I've ever seen you quite so energized as well I'll watch -- debates and I just -- the hands -- last night -- -- industry -- do because the truth doesn't matter it's just all entertainment gets lost in the politicians don't care.

Whether they're saying the truth or not.

And the media Candy Crowley I guarantee -- she didn't know what she was talking about either.

OK well less than those -- remote -- went -- the you are a popular guest on this program and we thank you very much for joining us this morning thank you went thank you thanks so.
