The first round of debates now over and President Obama and Mitt Romney are preparing to face off again on Tuesday where each candidate still has a whole lot -- Well our next guest help to up track.

Mitt Romney for the -- primary -- debates Ron Christie joins us a former special assistant to president George W.

Bush and CEO Christie strategies.

Thank you for coming in -- we absolutely.

You know everybody's talking now about what the president has to do next week to follow up on what was -- A lackluster performance last week the aggressive Joseph Biden last night what about Mitt Romney how does he follow up on his victory in the first debate.

Well I think he needs to continue to make the case the American people in his first debate he was very good at interviews himself as not a -- crap I'm not some rich guy who's out of touch.

I really empathize with the direction that a lot of people are facing and I think he's continue the same which is lot of people are hurting a lot of people are looking for security and more leadership out of Washington.

Means to provide a very stable but very confident message moving forward.

But he asked expect the president will come loaded for bear after the first performance what is the biggest thing that he needs to look out for in terms of the president's preparation.

Well I think about the President Obama and his -- performance he failed to go after the 47%.

He failed to really try to pin Romney on his tax plan and if I were prepping governor Ronnie right now I would be very very ready and able and willing.

Not only to confront the president on that but to reflect and say Mr.

President.

This is your record this is your inability to lead in this is the result of your policies.

Okay that's -- what did you learn them from last nights a year your prepping Romney you watched last night.

We know the president while we don't know anything but we think the president will not be as aggressive despite but he may use some of the same -- -- some of the same language.

Did Ryan respond the right way should Romney do it differently next week.

No I think Paul Ryan and hit it exactly right and particularly when he the vice president came after -- about taxes and particularly in the vice president came after him about Medicare.

Ryan came back and -- now actually it's -- who had your hand in the -- under the -- his take money out of Medicare.

But they need to be ready for this because that is the democrats' point of attack they don't wanna run on the record they want to run on -- fear mongering approach and talking about taxes and talking about class warfare something they've been very effective on and the campaigns over the summer get going negative has worked -- it really -- for them.

And unfortunately though for the president and mr.

Biden I think that there like ability has kept them around the 50% mark.

Now that you see these carpet bomb a balance now that you see the vice president being the attack dog.

I think people are gonna say will be economy hasn't gotten better.

We like these guys personally and now they're not being very nice I don't think that's a Smart move to -- over the independence what you think the races right now because this I guess a matter for strategy is Romney winning.

Yes yes head do you think I think it will limit for the easiest way before the debate last week what you've said is Romney winning now he would say he was you know battling in the battleground states but now I can say.

He's competitive in Florida he's competitive in Colorado he's competitive and many states that we did you say if this is the election I think he would he would you know I was in Colorado I just yesterday and flew in yesterday.

And a lot of the people and I spoke to said.

A week ago I was gonna vote for the president because I didn't like -- I'm now gonna vote for Romney because actually got to know the guy a little bit in the debate I've done a very striking.

But it could turn it could turn it turned wants and more on again and we've got three weeks.

Thank you Ron thanks guys to Iraq.
