Breaking news this hour we told you earlier about skepticism over the government's weekly jobs report.

The state of California now blasting Fox Business over our reporting on the issue California says it fully reported jobs data to the Labor Department.

Joining me now fox business's senior Washington correspondent Peter Barnes who reported on this earlier -- Director blasting out -- a number of other news media outlets including the Wall Street Journal and others here and basically the a state is denying.

Are reporting.

That there might have been some questionable things going on.

And the in the today's unemployment claims report.

Among other things that perhaps.

There was -- 01 report out there of that done.

That -- That report that the California claims were not filed completely we didn't report that are didn't file a report but rather for last week we didn't report that they did file a report.

But we did report that -- -- that its report may not have been complete.

And now the might have been some -- process claims that were not.

Included in the report that might push down the -- the weekly report was down by 30000 and here's a statement from the -- a California employment development department.

It says reports that California fail to fully report -- to the US department of labor as required or incorrect and irresponsible.

And it also says that California continues to file unemployment claims on a timely basis.

-- data on unemployment claims activity.

Is required to be reported to -- -- Labor Department.

Every week so I just wanted to give it that California's side of the story in this year.

Well Peter -- just to go over this for a second we came up with this on our own you got this from your own reporting and and clearly.

This isn't the first time -- -- BLS for for comment you're very familiar with these people years well -- In Washington and certainly.

In this department.

Tony what they -- -- source they are said to you that that caused such a curve awful.

Well I talk to very Labor Department official this morning who helped to write the weekly unemployment report this was the this morning early before all this got.

Cal is -- got kicked up about it right and on and this person told me that where there was a -- a large state.

An honest person did not say California but so there was a large state.

Other economists said it had to -- California likely was California.

That had not filed.

All perhaps had not filed.

All of -- well.

And confusing my sources the Labor Department officials said that there was a large state that has had problems with its that whether it's weekly employment.

Filings at the end of quarters in the beginning of quarters was what we saw last week.

And that and that and then trying to get this large state to try to provide it with complete reporting.

That to no avail and so.

But there's a lot more we have a full story on this at foxbusiness.com.

President.

Well -- -- of -- -- -- and I hate wrote it and -- are posted there and we stand by.

Well great reporting -- -- I mean these these guys just cannot get their stories together that's what I see from the outside looking at.

We appreciate your reporting tonight thank you so.
