We'll turning back -- politics president Obama's lack of popularity and Republican leaning states.

Putting democratic incumbents at significant risk.

My guest overtaking her democratic proponent of polls just last week after she made her debut on the national stage during the Republican National Convention.

Joining us tonight Republican camp.

And Utah's fourth congressional district.

Mayor me a lot of she's also -- surrogate for governor Romney and mayor good to have you with us.

Let's thank you for having me like let's start with there the situation in your chart comfortably Republican state.

You're incumbent.

You that you were the incumbent you are challenging.

EU's.

Has been solidly in his position he supports President Obama.

-- is that not a significant advantage now for you is this campaign closes.

Well yes of course it is you talk I believe.

Will us support Mitt Romney overwhelmingly I think we'll have bought Mitt Romney we'll have more votes out of the state of you talk.

Than any other state and the fact that he's supporting Barack Obama has some has voted with Barack Obama 75% of the time.

Puts Barack Obama first instead of his district first I think it's going to it is hurting him and the truth is resonating that's why we're we're doing well.

That the Deseret news our poll -- -- leading ten Jim Matheson.

A 4943%.

In the most recent poll he had a fifteen point lead the beginning of the summer's you well know.

It was it -- your performance at the national convention that was persuasive to voters what change over that period of time.

I think the message rings true I was able to represent -- -- voice on the national stage in support -- Mitt Romney I also talked about the America we know and love and how we need to get back there.

They're people that are struggling they're hurting and they're tired of the excuses they're tighter and the excuse is on the national level they're tired of the excuses here.

They want results and they want someone who was going to be able to lead and get those results.

That you have said that jobs there are without question your number one priority.

What is who.

How will you as one of 435.

If you -- victorious.

On November 6 how will you bring that action.

Well first of all you know I'm not planning on being congresswoman number of -- five -- congressman number for a five.

I'm seriously going out to try -- -- we can get votes to come along with us it's about leadership in coming up with solutions.

Two real problems and the first thing that we have to do when it comes to jobs we have to create some predictability in the market.

There's no predictability right now we -- in the same place this year that we weren't last year.

And you don't -- these businesses are struggling.

You're you're campaigning for governor Romney and Ohio are -- understand them and will continue to do so in Ohio.

Where they have a seven point 2% -- -- -- where they are enjoying a far better.

Recovery.

From recession -- much nearly all of the of the country what is the most persuasive message that you can take to the voters there.

Well I think like in the state of Utah.

We are doing well in spite of what to Washington's doing but it's not going to be too long or all going to feel.

The TV burdens that the president has put on us were not were going to feel the pains.

That the president has put on us we are doing -- in spite of Barack Obama and I think that the same thing's going to happen in Ohio so what we need to do was we need to.

Get people out on their feet ready to go get them fired up it's obviously during the it's obvious that during the debate Barack Obama has no idea.

How to get the economy going.

Mitt Romney it was clearly the person who understands the issues in the right person who knows direction that this country needs to take.

-- -- up thanks for being with -- we appreciate it thank you thank you so much I appreciate -- thank you.
