Turned argue about money by the way it is if I misspoke -- wanna apologize but we've got to find out who's running that American crossroads of drug tunnel like the talk to -- a little more often.
This is -- his his name is Stephen loss he used the CEO of American crossroads and very able -- gotcha I gotcha.
But until that if that's all right -- with the stick with you are right.
American -- in Ohio around the country.
We're looking at the Wall Street Journal reporting 150 million dollars our rates last month.
For the Obama campaign we're told by the year Romney campaign that there's is going to be impressive.
But we still don't have any numbers do you have a sense that the Romney campaign is keeping pace with.
That extraordinary.
Fund raising a result for the year president's.
Campaign.
You know I don't know I don't know the numbers but my suspicion is that that's a very impressive number by President Obama and while he was in essence his cash on hand began to dwindle.
A starting in May when he began spending all this money on TV.
There they did this is gonna get way in the weeds but it's very important.
If you're Obama or Romney the money that you have in your own campaign treasury is the money that is most easy to spend.
And has the biggest impact in -- guarantee if -- -- Romney getting the lowest unit rate and is the lowest cost for TV spot when you go by from the TV station.
Outside groups like American crossroads have to pay -- premium -- President Obama spends a dollar we have to spend considerably more than a dollar to get the same -- of television.
Then a lot more of Romney's money is to be found in new in the wallet as a Republican National Committee.
And a lot smaller percentage of Obama's money -- to be found in the -- of the Democratic National Committee what does that mean.
If you if you're using money from the democratic or Republican national committee's you have to use what are called combo ads in which -- not only mention.
Obama but also Democrats or not only -- Romney -- mentioned other the Republicans.
And it tends to weaken the ad and then the way to date of the the power of the adults are you feel so good -- I got an important.
This are you feel good about it Larry -- -- -- high -- -- all Bob.
A charter.
I do think that Obama has had an advantage and and more of his money.
Is in that -- is it is in a -- from which he can spend could easily get the lowest unit rate.
And control the message better than that in they can -- so you're not concerned all about the progress.
-- concerned about it I think I think it's a real problem because look you haven't talked about the big you know -- in the big -- Gorilla in the room and that is organized labor which is gonna pump 400 to 450 million dollars into this race like they did.
Four years ago and you know where you're gonna have Obama here you're gonna Romney here you get him outside groups on behalf Romney even -- enough and then again labor coming in like this so we always really residents can -- Mitt Romney.
When you talk about the gorilla other that in just a union -- that's also union ground.
Forces going to work are you satisfied that governor Romney has.
A sufficient ground force ready.
To meet -- what will be a daunting.
A ground operation on the part of President Obama.
Well I don't know state by state but I do I have talked to some of the people involved in some of these states who are old political hands and know what's going on.
Like -- Ohio they tell -- they're already blowing through the 2004 bush ground game metrics.
With one exception voter registration which you really have to began last year neither -- been a particularly good job and registration this year but yeah Wisconsin Ohio.
Virginia I mean all the reports that you hear from people are paying close attention -- -- is the ground game is big massive and strong on the Republican side.
And and let's let's be honest is going to be big and and massive on the democratic side as well enthusiasm is going to be higher on the Republican side -- that's the way when you have -- when you have an -- party they tend to be.
More energized particularly in close contest.
But you gotta you gotta have mechanics the mechanical things going on on both sides and they are.
-- -- you have.
Given us a tutorial that there we appreciate it's been serious big numbers I've got to ask you very quickly go about thirty seconds your views on big bird and whether or not is going to become an avatar.
It was done this this -- back.
You don't look it you've you put it you put your finger on this is they still -- a nonprofit organization makes a lot of money and has a lot of assets.
They would be you know if they were in any in return we give them eight million dollars for the money which the United States government doesn't have and which we borrowed from the Chinese in order to give it to them.
If we -- big bird if they were for profit entity could still do the things for public -- they're doing turn a profit and give up the taxpayer dollars.
You know the president talked about a new American patriotism maybe when the new American patriotism is.
Organizations like Sesame Street which is done so many good things ought to give up the public money and glad give private dollars by the -- license and as they RD year doing.
Of Sesame Street characters and and products I mean you know all of -- took our kids to Sesame Street.
You know shows -- communities and our neighborhoods where we bought tickets and you -- go by Sesame Street characters for your kids and maybe maybe well used from.
Free our overall -- marketing and for big -- on sesame place my bets.
Are -- who would have thought.
-- great to have you here thanks so much --
