This comes under the heading of your not gonna believe this.

In this -- does that sound view my message won't.

FBI agents finally arrived at the US consulate and -- -- today more than three weeks after the terrorist attack.

And which for Americans were killed including our ambassador.

Then they laugh they spent less than a day and -- -- My guest house here to sort out all that is happening in Libya and Washington DC year's best we -- understanding.

-- understand it joining me now is Andrew McCarthy former federal prosecutor.

Who convicted amongst others the blind -- He's also the author of the new -- spring fever the illusion of Islamic democracy.

Great to -- you to be -- -- thank you.

This is.

Incredible.

The FBI held up in been in triple it.

For over three weeks again and have been Ghazi their last summit -- as little as three hours on the so called scene.

Of that attack and then to.

-- it's pointless to have the FBI try to operate.

In any country where you either or both don't have a competent government.

That it's actually cooperating witness so.

If you don't eat if you have a situation like we had in Saudi Arabia for example after the Cold War towers bombing we have a fairly competent government in its jurisdiction.

But it has no interest in helping us -- there's no point having our people there and if you have them there should be clear that government the saudis did not -- that's exactly right.

And it it if you have a situation like Yemen after the Cole attack in 2000.

We have a country where the militias are actually stronger than the government is.

You can't put people on the ground we can't protect them but in Libya sensibly -- The Libyan government is our co operating with the United States and yet we find suddenly that.

-- the FBI's top permitted to leave the triple Opel what does it mean at their cooperating.

Our facility that we had -- -- Ghazi was not being protected by the government it was being protected by a militia well quote unquote protected.

By a militia that was contract that by the government because they're not a competent government.

We shouldn't even have had a facility there we don't have facility diplomatic facilities in places where we can't protect.

In.

And yet this administration persisted and insisting that the FBI go there in this is nothing more than sparks I think and I want your professional judgment.

But this appears to be nothing more than a farce at the FBI would even show up three weeks after the -- -- the incident.

And and what pretend to do forensic examination and investigation the look the first of all this was a war crime it's not -- criminal investigations secondly.

There -- and the rid of the courts does not want to -- Ghazi so to have them there.

When they're not even really doing a criminal investigation that'll come to anything to speak of is ridiculous.

And as I started saying about two or three weeks ago.

You know when they started to say that we can't talk about what happened there now because it is a criminal investigation going on you know was preposterous for them to say that.

Even then because what you can't talk about in a criminal investigation is the grand jury.

Are we doing this all we putting our people at risk in -- -- to maintain the charade that we can't talk about what happened while.

I'm I'm not -- but I am being skeptical.

When this administration stone walls and so many issues whether it's -- furious renters.

We can go for a host of issues.

But this terrorist attack which the president insisted on referring -- As a spontaneous street action.

To a two bit amateurish Khartoum.

Video on the web of just about nine minutes and -- This is asinine and now using the FBI investigation as that.

Wall from behind which they could Stonewall any inquiry by the national media or congress.

It is patently.

Patently absurd.

You know look what they are trying to do that in the president's policy is a failure.

I'm getting involved in Libya was a failure taking Qaddafi out so that we can empower islamists the Muslim Brotherhood in the al-Qaeda affiliates was a major.

Our on our part.

Certainly on the administration's part and what's happening now is if you had a choice between saying my policy caused this or some movie cause that.

And you're running for election in seven weeks or however many weeks it is at this point what would you do.

I was struck by secretary Donald Rumsfeld from -- -- -- respect they're being very generous and saying that.

In his estimation.

Is he put it he thinks that the Obama administration was wanted to believe that this -- a spontaneous reaction.

And all I could think of as the secretary said that.

We we citizens pay these folks in these government roles not to do what they want -- to do what is the professional and a proper.

-- valuation of the facts as they find them you know particularly when it comes to terrorism.

Are we are -- Reliving with and administration right now that is not being forthcoming with the reality.

We have a secretary of state who now says to congress wait until we -- we get through with our little panel that were putting together.

We shall take this well beyond the election of course perhaps well beyond.

Spring of next year.

This is becoming a government oriented toward.

-- keeping information from the American public rather than sharing.

You know I think the signature.

Piece of legislation of the administration is Obama care.

And it was rigged in a way that all of its consequences happen after the election everything has been -- after the election.

They don't want to be accountable for their policies but right now you know.

History has away and I think events have a way.

Of on doing your tidy little arrangements and that's worth seeing in Libya fortunately.

Andrew McArthur of -- spring fever we thank you very much banks.

And it's up on we're about dot com sir you have access appears well.

Threw -- the way to accept.
