Today let's get back to that debate all important.
Is one of the many reasons why it's being called a Romney win.
Why is it that that I don't wanna raise taxes why don't want to raise taxes on people.
And and it actually you -- back in 2010 he said look I'm gonna extend the tax policies that we have now I'm not gonna raise taxes and anyone.
Because when the economy's going -- like this well we're in recession you shouldn't raise taxes on anyone.
Well the economy is still going slope about -- destroy much more slowly now the when you made that statement.
All right let's bring in Brian -- and I he's head of Washington policy research at KB and WR Bryant you load that's.
Are you satisfied with Romney is and so on taxes didn't clarify his position on taxes.
And Alec clarified -- -- was so in fact ID EE finally made it connection with people why his policies are gonna be better they Obama -- I thought was an absolute home run.
Hitting on pro growth economic policies that.
He just hasn't emphasized enough he really did a masterful job -- it last night while you really thought you London June contract absolutely that it move on to jobs I want to show you what he said on jobs and then get your reaction to it.
Look at the evidence the last four years.
It's absent extraordinary.
We've got 23 million people out of work or stop looking for work in this country.
All right it's just it's we got we got its when the president took office 32 million people on food stamps 47 million on food stamps today.
Economic growth this year slower than last year and last year -- -- a year before.
That they're going forward with the status quo is not gonna cut it for the American people who are struggling today.
OK going -- status -- not good enough digit Romney's lay out a plan for growth growth in jobs growth in the economy.
He emphasized jobs more than probably any other topic you talked about last night along with tax and and and deficit reduction what he did was he connected the dots.
From a critique of the Obama administration's record where they have failed.
To the emphasis that would be in the Romney administration any tie the two together about how he would make lives better for for the average -- a person going forward.
And many took another step and show how he's a problem solver that economic growth is actually an engine.
For curing some of the fiscal challenges because -- I don't there's a great -- that he had last night about how more people working pay more taxes and helps reduce the deficit.
A really look like a problem -- last night just not not just like an ideologue or somebody putting out talking points -- -- point -- but look you eat this stuff for breakfast I mean you've you've you've read this stuff in better and I know you do.
What about the average person who doesn't know what a fiscal cliff is doesn't follow economic policy just looks at two candidates -- -- added over the economy jobs and taxes.
What impression with the I I think that Romney made a really great argument of why the Obama administration what has no plan to for for next -- in in the Romney view.
And secondly how they -- they took their eye off the ball the first -- in the first administration.
And in looking at health care first and not.
-- -- on the jobs side of the equation I think Romney connected with people.
In saying his first focus is economic growth and drop creation and I think he did a very very effective job of that last night.
-- -- -- that we appreciate being with us this morning jobs taxes appearance approach all right we got -- Brian thank you very much indeed.
