With President Obama and former governor Mitt Romney squaring off.
In their first debate last night there's just over a month left until the presidential election domestic policy was the focus and both man came out swinging.

-- said it could not be done that the math does not add up because governor Romney says he wants to do this.
By not only extending the bush tax cuts.
But also lowering tax rates for everyone.
But then eliminating deductions.
To try to make sure that it's all revenue neutral President Obama went after that take a listen.
The fact is.
If you -- lowering the rates the way you described governor.
Then it is not possible to come up with -- -- deductions and loopholes that only affect high income individuals to avoid either raising the deficit.
Or.
Burdening the middle class gets its -- it's arithmetic.
I'm not looking to cut massive taxes and to reduce that the -- revenues going to the government.
-- -- number one principal is they'll be no tax cut that adds to the deficit.
When on the line that no tax cut that adds to the deficit but I do want to reduce the burden paint being paid by middle income Americans.
And I -- to do that that also means I cannot reduce the burden paid.
By high income Americans so any any -- languish the contrary is simply not accurate.
Of course they are Romney folks here on the ground were very happy with their candidates performance last night the question is is that.
Even though these flash polls and pundits are saying that this was a victory for Romney.
It's not -- and translate that.
Into vaults as you know the history of these televised debates over the last few decades has not has not always -- shown.
An increase in votes four of the winners of the first debate let alone.
Whoever is declared the winners of all the debates -- we still have of course two more to go and you combat.
