All right Phil we you're out shopping -- you look for green products and are you willing to pay more then.

I'm not -- going -- big business with the Federal Trade Commission is cracking down on how companies market their beds so consumer life.

You and I don't get tipped the problem is the FTC's new green guide seems pretty.

That you might end up hurting businesses bottom line joining me now is expert -- -- president of Ries and Ries Laura thank you so much for coming on the show.

You can kind of -- -- -- -- put these rules in place is you could say -- product is green -- -- it's like organic UniCredit on anything.

And the people want it right.

Well I -- and that they as seeming consumers are really stupid right -- -- -- out and buy everything.

Like you know -- consumers are skeptical -- you know -- like he's sad.

They actually less willing to buy things that are green are not willing to spend more money in a -- he says.

And what the biggest issue is green is -- everything it makes it less powerful and they are extremely skeptical.

And maybe why don't you need on this new regulation and rules and green standard well I -- in general life I'm with you -- against almost anything that's regulatory I'm not a huge fan of the government I think everyone knows that but I.

I know any what are some of the regulations we're talking about here and and which ones you -- don't make any sense.

You know there's there's a log up -- you know guidelines about using claims and basically they want to crack down on broad claims.

And really make peace that's it -- each and everything they thought he had it's almost sometimes been very called.

To go into compliance and that's -- it's gonna -- companies are whole Lotta time in a whole lot of money in a whole lot of lawyers Steve.

To really delve into that.

I'm and certainly -- like a biodegradable bottle you have to be.

You know go back you need to share within a year and it anything goes and not have to say it's going to live hello -- not being -- -- -- -- But also did.

Chris -- your information.

And really is.

Are people who don't read that probably not what -- thing it is I think a lot of this consumers.

Very -- area those broad general -- anyway and really don't want it get really have sat in the really can crack down on this and industries themselves if the -- hot comments -- Yeah sit here because the competition is really the one that gets upset when their competitor makes a father -- and and they can bell -- in the industry review boards that trade association review -- Working together as an industry tell police say can really help the most.

Any companies not as sure you don't want anyone lying about their products.

Here blatant lying it's exaggeration.

But we really really kind of -- -- -- And people have to pay if that's what they really want well there you don't need your pay your getting a service you're paying for something to be green -- you're getting that service and if it's important TO.

-- -- -- Let me think that it is screened it and I really I would not ideally but it didn't greet you assume that there is going to be higher costs and -- Really sure that they're willing to pay out -- -- higher cost percent being green.

So -- at all companies are making an extreme extreme but making that claim FEMA lot greener than median and -- there -- grey area crew.

Yeah.

You know positive -- and the government had enough to deal really yet and so sounds like -- gray -- not green thanks so much yeah.
