Small President Obama told David Letterman the rise -- national debt is not a console and in the short term.

-- he told sixty minutes the debt isn't his fault just blame bush but he is the opinion section of today's Wall Street Journal quoting directly now.

The annotated Obama how 90% of the deficit become somebody else's fault.

This article is a scathing it's an editorial a scathing editorial that debunks all of the president's assertions about the -- he inherited.

Mark -- from -- group joined.

-- prominent Democrat who frequented joins -- and company.

We do appreciate you being with a -- welcome back to d'souza.

-- you see you always a pleasure -- now the president says he's not responsible for the debt largely.

He says he's not concerned about it in the short.

-- put it to you that.

It this is being irresponsible.

He's getting away with it because a lot of people don't understand the -- -- there eyes glaze over when you stop talk about debt and deficits he can get away with -- But he's dismissing.

An extremely.

Important part of America's financial life.

I think being irresponsible how do you respond.

Well I don't think he's dismissing -- all the fact the president did say -- said many times.

That the debt long term debt is a serious problem that's why he's signed over two trillion dollars in spending cuts during his administration.

But the core question -- raising is who really is responsible for -- the Congressional Budget Office looked at this issue.

And they came out -- a break here clear conclusions and basically.

About 80% or so of the policies that our lead to this deficit lead to -- dead.

Where an active in the Bush Administration that that's -- simple fact that's has been nonpartisan congressional budget off.

Is so -- stand on the -- if you are you what you will stand on what he said despite what the Wall Street Journal -- it's divided but you'll you'll stand on that well I want us to have a nonpartisan you do and whatever it hadn't -- -- nonsense and -- -- my daughter's not with the editorial page of the want to -- -- -- -- -- -- stand on his public statements about the -- not all his responsibility.

And he's not concerned about that in the short term you'll start out that.

But he is concerned about -- he's running away from in the media -- -- I think he's running away from mop my big bear no -- that that is a significant negative he's running unsuccessfully so I think is one well and successful.

If he didn't think it was a problem why would -- assigned to point over two trillion dollars in spending cuts the answers -- there's only one reason and that's because he does believe it's a serious problem.

But the reality is the president invited debt speaker Boehner and other leaders from congress to come to a grand bargain.

That would have made a lot of changes in our fiscal picture brought down the deficit and the debt -- a significant way at the ended data speaker -- a locked out and said no we can't.

There are different versions of that markets -- -- -- on the -- -- -- won't what do trillion spending cuts that you talk about the the president.

Is not an actual caught in the deficit it's lowering the rate of growth but the deficit and those cuts by the way whatever they off take place what a down the road.

But I I digress almost no quick quote before you.

The president doesn't mention Obama -- That simply isn't part of his campaign.

And yet that's the major achievement -- of his first why is he running away from that as well as the debt.

I don't think he's running away from I didn't Richards is the president in his speech at the at the convention.

Talked about the fact that today as a result of his policies.

People can't be kicked out -- insurance because of preexisting conditions there are no lifetime caps there are kids who are being treated for cancer today.

Because of his policy that would it because of his policies that would have been denied coverage just a year ago so.

The reality is he has talked about the impact.

That the health care policy has had and it's had a tremendously positive impact for a lot of Americans that's similar to want to repeal it have to figure out what they're gonna say it doesn't parents.

Who are getting the treatment that wouldn't get it otherwise.

I've gotten twenty seconds Nancy Pelosi speaker Pelosi says everybody knows it -- Obama's gonna win you social.

Well that I live in a world a probability is not certain deal but I think the probability today is that President Obama is gonna -- that is certainly -- greater probability.

But they're no certainties here a lot can happen between now and election that is correct mark -- always a pleasure thanks for joining us.
