That it never wanted to meet -- Benjamin Netanyahu if he did he'd have to meet with the leaders of all those other mideast nations that apparently share the distinction of also being.
One of our -- allies in the region -- my next guest worried very worried former deputy undersecretary of state.
Just have been -- what do you make of this.
I think that President Obama is doing everything he can.
To prevent Israel or frankly all the other nations in the Middle East from doing anything before the November 6 election.
This is all about postponing action making sure that he does not get put on the spot and quite frankly I'd like to know.
What nations he counts amongst our allies -- Middle East as far as I can tell and I look at my map to pretty closely there ain't none but Israel.
Well I'm looking maybe the closest one -- we get something from economically and it's a -- -- Saudi Arabia even that's a stretch because the royal family is.
Has been unquestionably.
Reacted to some of our latest moves but I'm -- -- to put the -- in the same league as Israel.
Is an insult yet he -- I don't believe anything the president says as is an accidental comment and I think all -- that was very well time and very.
Clearly articulated for what reason when even.
Well again I think he's delaying things -- after the election I think he does not want to be in a position of taking responsibility actually leaving on anything.
But if you look at what he's been doing for the past three and three quarters years went -- This guy is abdicating America's status as a superpower in the world working very hard to make sure that we're not a superpower.
If it continues were not going to be able to defend our allies and Israel being the only one in the Middle East but look around the world.
We're not going to be able defend our own interest our allies interest.
Quite frankly we will be shrinking in power mean heavens forbid will soon be another France.
I'm don't go that -- but I'd be curious to -- If it being nice.
To add to these rising.
With the Muslim populations.
Has not helped us any more -- the -- the president had against then President Bush being tough with them had during his administration.
Made it we're just trying to appease people who intrinsically can't stand us and no amount of over -- for lack of a better word is gonna change that.
Well I think that's likely true I think their culture there ideology that underlies a lot of what the islamists are doing.
I think that we cannot make peace with them.
But we can peacefully coexist with them knock down the path that Obama wants but what -- -- would you change it because it seemed like this is widespread and getting worse.
Volatile and getting -- -- What what did you do.
Well just for starters I would start by cutting off with -- foreign aid to Egypt but we're paying these people one point three billion dollars the riot in front of our embassy.
-- we cannot be spending this kind of money without some strings attacked you have of the president of Egypt comes out and and lectures us a new.
You know -- so why right so -- meal at the point is these guys are much -- tin pot dictators.
They are not Democrats they are not interested in freedom their interest did in their former particular despotism and slavery.
We need to -- and stand up very tall against Iran we have not seen and any instance since 1979 when that odious regime took place took power.
No diplomatic effort has succeeded with them I think we have to face up to the idea that something else is going to have to be done.
And we ought to be standing next to Israel rather than pushing Israel way.
-- puts -- -- and always a pleasure thank you.
