Right we're gonna have to San Francisco now at -- -- is CEO of school up joining yes I think eight.

Hi Lauren so NASA budget cuts in education nationally you have.

Actually giving you a new business smile can you tell us about school up.

That's exactly right we launched school of this past.

Spring and today.

Marks the start of the world's biggest school fund raiser.

The world's biggest school fund raiser can you explain that tells the -- -- yes there we have partnered.

We at about 101000 schools and growing across the US.

To raise money for schools from coast to coast so.

Schools had signed up local merchants and we at school -- have lined up some really fabulous national retailers.

Like Walgreens.

FICO mom.

And costs which sells household goods.

You know you know which -- some wonderful.

Selling of toy is.

And all of those brands are being offered at a steep steep discounts to consumers but the real powerful part of this.

Is up to 35%.

Of those purchases are going back to the school.

That the user's choice.

So that's a really great idea and good cause and how do people know about the deals how are you.

Advertising.

Well a lot of it has come through this schools and they are word of mouth and so in many instances we've had a parents at -- school -- PPO or PTA members sign up.

And they are sharing the word with parents in their school community.

We also have a great group of partners.

So great schools -- stores.

Education dot com education week all of sort of the best names in education and parenting.

Have teamed up with us and they are also getting the word out to.

They're -- constituent.

Right and you know if you look at the numbers -- the school budget issues that are facing right now since 2000 any.

More than 80% of states have cut per student spending.

And some states have cut it by about a -- so so we're looking at steep losses it was refreshing to hear they're finding out a way to to fill the gap.

And it's a lot more than just a school bake sale or hate him.

That's exactly right I think I think we need to turn to more modern ways -- of raising money for.

Our schools and what's so neat about this is it's it's obviously a win for parents.

Because they save money on things they already love to do a win for businesses and not because it's terrific cause based marketing but most importantly it's a win for our school.

Because they're able to raise those desperately needed funds.

Right and and the event that's happening today through through do end of the week is on tap trees thirteen million dollars and -- cracked.

Well we'll see what the numbers end up being.

We've had again -- -- of schools already sign up.

Anybody can go online to school -- dot com and activate their school.

Simply by purchasing something and then they have a tool -- that allows them to then spread it out to other parents so we're hoping.

That we have a majority of the nation's schools participate by -- -- -- -- -- how many averages came right now.

So we have a around 101000 herself and him -- ice.

All over the -- -- -- so it's very every single day every single state every single city.

-- -- -- -- And are you finding that most of DS PTA members that are helping our.

Working mothers not working mothers fathers how is what's the demographic.

All of the above the -- -- I think everybody whether they're working or not working cares about their kids and but to be honest cares about the funding cuts you know I have a seven year old and a four year -- have the opportunity.

That my four year old has just entering kindergarten -- my seven year old -- -- had a few years ago here in California is radically different.

We used to worry about our kids have these same opportunity that we had.

As parents but now even within siblings.

There needs to be some concern about whether this -- quality of education you to be available right.

CC -- the CEO of school lunch joining us from San Francisco.

Think you on this revolution and school fundraising for schools certainly need it OK we're gonna go to break.
