Appreciate it next up.
Talk about entitlement nation from 2008 to 2010.
Food stamp rolls increased flight to.
Million people and -- the company from Washington is Republican congressman Tom phrase he's from Georgia sir.
What -- -- the government says you know I don't have to do.
And that that's exactly the point that we've been making this week -- and that report clearly displays that when you waive the work requirements as.
What was done in the stimulus package it only creates -- -- welfare programs in fact food stamps doubled during that period.
And that's been a 41% increase in welfare altogether and just the last couple of years under President Obama.
But what I remember when I was growing up and and I -- broken well for politics it was just the opposite of that.
My mom always taught me she -- you know there or no free rides you've got to work for and you've got to -- it.
And -- -- president Barack Obama -- disagrees with my mother.
-- my mom was right.
-- -- will you gonna get imam on the phone there.
You know we can that are on the phone Agnes -- are -- -- -- let me just quickly and out for the viewer there.
Obviously what we're seeing is people who are eighteen or -- to 849 these are able bodied individuals are now on food stamps but.
No it got other media saying wait a second you know any criticism -- this is all wrong.
We've got a twenty hours a week while work week basically the got to -- -- -- hours to get those benefits.
But what have to do to get the twenty hour compliance thing and.
Poll released just a few things one you gotta be preparing for work.
Gotta be working.
In in this is about able bodied Americans who receiving.
Benefit from the government.
And he clearly was therefore it for transitional periods is never meant to be something that you live off.
And really it's all about to families and communities and churches over the ones that should be embracing those in need an -- Sort of government -- a pullback -- because basically what we're seeing the administration.
Weekend the -- welfare to work requirements that President Clinton put in place that's -- is something.
Those caseloads when the President Clinton put that in obviously dropped from five that -- -- a five point nine million -- nearly thirteen million between 982000.
Or talking about his face and it is satisfied -- -- requirement you could be doing things like researching child care or being up.
Getting job readiness training.
What do you make of it.
Well I think -- you know president Obama's really part of legacy that he sleeping you have point three million Americans that are.
Out of work are looking for work and you have 47 million Americans that our own food stamps right now that's the legacies leaving clearly that's not the right path.
The direction -- he's taking us and there's another path that's another future as one of opportunity and prosperity.
And in the current all its employees that Bill Clinton signed in the -- bipartisan support.
Was working -- It says the increased poverty and it got folks back to work but it also allow for little bit of -- transition time.
And president Barack Obama just circumventing congress altogether -- well as as his party back in the ninety's.
-- -- person -- officials say wait a second hold on we're in -- record economic downturn we haven't seen since Great Depression.
Some of those numbers may be the result of that what do you make of that criticism.
Well I mean clearly there they wanna they want to expand government they're they're creating more dependency on government but that's not the American way you know.
Americans they want to work they want a paycheck -- an unemployment check the American way is all about hard work.
Americans do not want something for nothing so the fact that Democrats -- doing this right now right before the election.
Maybe it's a political play but other voters we'll have the final say here next 46 days.
You know they're living and essentially up to the states to decide how do you change that benefit boat and business they -- You fifty states you get to decide the welfare to work requirement do you take that back out.
Well in the current law still in place what the president is done as saying he's just not gonna pay attention to the wall I mean that's that's that action he -- taken today is ignoring the law.
And his act and actually his role within the constitution.
They'll always passing of a sign that the into law by President Clinton back in the ninety's and president Barack Obama should be abiding by the law question directed -- -- do otherwise are kinds of grace thank you so -- times are really for.
