-- to these countries with more honest Republican senator Rand Paul of Kentucky.

Senator welcome to show great to have you here.

And we get to your calls to cut foreign -- in just a second but first I want your reaction.

To this Department of Homeland Security report.

The says threats reached the US two days before it did the protests started.

You know I'm quite concerned about whether or not there was any warning if we paid -- didn't pay attention to the warning.

I'm also concerned that in Egypt you know the egyptians said hey the mobs coming but they didn't send any troops to defend our embassy.

So -- I think there really needs to be investigation of what went on here.

We also need to bring the assassins to justice in Libya.

That's part of what I've been working on for the last week here.

Is trying to get the senate to vote on this whether -- not our aid to these countries should have some contingencies.

And should be attached to some rules.

What you say these countries need to be held to account.

For what they've done here and just to take a look at some of the numbers this is just last year twins are this year that is 2012.

-- Pakistan getting two point one billion Egypt one point six Libya thirteen point one what should happen to this money.

But you know I think if you wanna be an ally of our country need to act like it if you wanna cash our US taxpayer check.

I think really their needs to be consumed contingencies.

For example with regard to Pakistan.

I think you shouldn't torture in the friend of America doctor she -- afridi who helped us to get bin Laden that now putting in prison for life.

That doesn't sound like the actions.

Ally.

So I propose several things -- can go back to if we don't spend the money in these countries if you go towards lowering the debt.

We're last week I said to senator Reid we can even use it for the veterans benefits bill.

So there are a lot of things it could be dealt with the money -- makes no sense keep sending good money after bad to countries that disrespect us.

Well at -- and using that to improve our own security might be an idea.

But using your logic you could cut off -- virtually across scores of countries right now take a look at the number of countries here who.

Our protests -- Americans Morocco Tunisia.

Sudan Lebanon.

It goes on and on these countries are getting a lot of money from our federal government should not just -- these three countries should -- pulling aid for more.

Well I think all foreign aid ought to be contingent upon behavior.

I think when large parts of your country are burning the American flag it doesn't really show that you're very appreciative of the help that we're sending your country.

So yes a prerequisite for getting -- maybe year country shouldn't be burning our flags -- chanting down with America doesn't look very good.

And we come asking for more money I'm very skeptical to send good money after bad to these countries but I agree I think all of foreign aid should have rules and restrictions.

And really shouldn't be sent to people or countries that are disrespecting us.

Well I think your critics would say that it's typical for these countries to control what is in some cases a minority view.

What do you say to that.

Well you know controlling the crowd you can't always control the crowd I understand that but the Pakistani government is imprisoning doctor afridi.

The Pakistani government was accused of torturing doctor afridi the man who have to -- in Lawton.

The Egyptian government is responsible for of the safety of our embassy.

So -- in some cases the crowd may get out of control but it is Egypt's responsibility to send troops weapons -- whatever it takes.

To protect the Egyptian embassy we would do the same for them and our country.

It's one of the basic things in a civilized country you have to protect every country's embassy.

Well my understanding was Harry -- was standing in the way of this sad -- you thinks that after what's happened.

That more people will have a have a point of -- similar to your own.

Well I've gotten word this afternoon not been having discussions with the leadership on the other side that I think they're going to allow -- The question is will sell and my party allow the -- And so that's yet to be determined we're gonna -- that out the next -- for -- mergers.

But if I can get my colleague Steve -- have a vote.

We're at the very least gonna vote on whether or not portrayed in this country should have some contingencies.

Whether or not we should let country just run roughshod over us and still send them more money.

As slowly your here I have to ask about the Federal Reserve you've been very outspoken in your criticism of the Federal Reserve say they're -- -- control.

They took a very dramatic.

Move last week to try to prop up this economy what do you make of it.

-- I think the danger is when you keep creating more money and you keep saying oh interest rates should be zero or 1% -- low as they possibly meet.

-- so distorting the marketplace that they'll be repercussions.

One of the repercussions we already see and that's -- gas is doubled in price.

Under President Obama I think the next thing you're going to -- is that you see gold on the rise again there -- an articles -- saying.

Guess what we may see 2.4 hundred dollar gold.

I'm not worried about 2400 -- I'm worry about 24000.

Dollar an ounce gold.

If we -- get all of this money chasing goods and that we have rampant inflation in this country my concern is that if you destroy the currency about turning up so much of it.

That you really -- have chaos and that that's not what I want for our country.

You know you talked a lot about foreign aid in the last few minutes I had no idea we -- given all this money to -- We have a number two point six billion since the collapse of the Soviet Union is -- to Russia and guess what they don't want it.

-- -- -- -- here's an even greater irony we borrow money from China.

And then we send money to China we actually see in China economic development assistance.

Now do you talk about this being a topsy turvy crazy world Washington.

Sending economic development assistance in China should end tomorrow if anybody up here at any sense.

It's well boy.

That's compelling argument -- fact given the way they're treating us in the international marketplace.

Senator -- -- for coming on tonight great having you here.
