-- was getting really big play in the media this morning I will tell you the latest polls in key swing states a New York Times poll.

Has Mitt Romney down by six points in Wisconsin.

And the Washington Post has President Obama -- by eight points in Virginia.

However should study that the -- Rasmussen poll of the eleven that swing states shows Romney with a one point lead over -- Joining us now might Reagan alright Mike always good to see you.

Earlier today we have someone on the program -- past commitment past sessions we've had we said.

Mitt Romney is not a good candidate is a weak candidate and his campaign is really bad -- -- you.

Well he has it is Camp David -- -- is really -- he needs a clear message of worry want to take America.

And needs to ask us to be within good to take us there.

And any really hasn't done that seems -- message changed every day or in fact the media says something about a speech you gave back in -- any ends up.

May she apologized in what he stands -- wages -- -- wrong.

You don't at this point need to be a strong leader and move forward.

And I will tell you I think there's people on the campaign that by shouldn't be there who have not one presidential elections if you will so I think -- -- some changes need to be made but remember.

At this point back in 1980 Ronald -- -- behind in fact October 1980.

I think my father was about ten points behind.

At one point so things can change and I think these debates coming up.

Are going to be the tell all for Mitt Romney they're gonna make or break.

This campaign but he needs to tell us worry want to take us.

He can't just simply run on let's replace Obama.

It's it's gotta be.

Okay we're gonna replace Obama but this is what I'm going to be as the president of United States here -- my plan let's move forward to and have a positive message.

Did your dad in the 1980 campaign replace.

Senior level people in his campaign.

Would just a few weeks ago I had the best I can't remember what street did -- -- in New Hampshire -- what I did after New Hampshire.

We did New Hampshire okay and I'm the guy called at 6:30 in the morning Los Angeles.

-- hadn't had -- approved the fire in the campaign staff of the more in New Hampshire primary because a wide done for him and told them what was gonna happen in Iowa.

And so I'm the guy who did that back enough guy she was February of 1980 -- -- sometimes you've got to stand up and and do what's necessary if indeed -- went.

But that was November election was and that -- really -- -- -- -- -- that -- -- winning the election it's not about -- wanna be -- my friends wanna keep these -- on board -- -- taking it down in the Titanic.

You get rid of them it's about what in the election he needs to run for president as if the election is tomorrow afternoon.

Run -- you wind up behind in October.

I saw -- -- go right to the moon 66 airplane rides nineteen states just from October 6 November 3.

Of 98 my sister Marie was doing the same thing and my father would basically doing the same thing it wasn't just one event today it was many events today.

Because we wanted to win.

But okay.

I just wonder how much it is a weak candidate -- campaign.

Vs the implacable.

Opposition of establishment media.

You know I didn't that -- don't -- the ever O'Neal wasn't on long Reagan's side you've got to fight -- way around.

You can't give you -- blaming the media for where you're at you've got to fight wage above it.

And round we need if you're -- I don't candidate you could in fact do that well Reagan never had the media and inside my god.

He didn't have the hierarchy of the Republican Party on his side.

But it -- able to do it because he ran a ground up campaign.

Not a top down campaign and I think the Romney campaign is running a top down a Rockefeller Republican.

Type of campaign which is not a winnable campaign.

It's gonna go round up campaign and moving forward here in the -- church elected Ronald Reagan in the northeast we're very sensitive to the whole expression Rockefeller Republican.

-- -- -- -- we appreciate being with us thanks again always good thank you.
