We've been saying the only show this week the recent developments in the Middle East are evidence that president Obama's policies on not working over that.

Joining us now is lieutenant colonel Ralph Peters also all of -- -- and get his -- He's a Fox News strategic analyst.

Rough welcome back to the show if I may.

I want your judgment in three areas number one is -- you -- judgment that president Obama's policy in the Middle East has thus far been a failure.

Catastrophic failure.

That's -- all the strong so catastrophic failure well.

It is catastrophic in the sense that look.

For all the seeming good we've done all the efforts made.

In many of these movements in -- these countries the extremist movements have been strengthened.

Why have they -- strength it.

First -- -- because apologies.

Are counterproductive.

When we apologize as a president cannot and he's addicted to apologies.

The message it sends the fundamentalists and their.

What -- potential converts -- -- America admits it span America admits it did terrible things and by implication America.

It -- -- but admits its anti Islamic.

And also there's I'm curious parallel here -- that I haven't seen anybody or hurt anybody pick up.

And it's amazing it's uncanny how similar it is domestically.

When President Obama.

Blames all of our -- on him America's rich.

And in the Middle East.

-- the fundamentalist extremist blame all the variables on the rich America it's a one level it's a form of class warfare and the -- you know.

Are always throughout history -- always been easy to blame something goes wrong there's a plagued it since the rich Jews.

You know the economies that tank if it's not government policies it's the rich.

But there's a global aspect of that and I think.

I give credit for good intentions to a President Obama -- -- he said bleeding heart wants to do the right thing.

Although not the case of Israel but that's another story.

But apologies do not work they provoke -- They insight.

Next judgment to -- -- what you would judgment on the US media and its coverage of the last three days in the Middle East.

And as the American Media covered last three days -- -- mostly covered covered governor Romney's supposed to gaffe.

It's been disgraceful I except fox from that -- the coverage on Al-Jazeera.

Has been less biased and more comprehensive.

Than that on CN NS -- -- so.

That you I want to -- when I'm working out I'm watching the -- and I'll tell you Al-Jazeera English gives you a pretty good picture what's going on.

According to CNN and MSNBC.

All the riots in the Middle East everything is gone wrong is wrong -- fault somehow it's it's just.

The media -- in the tank for Obama it's just pathetic but that's another issue to the bottom line -- -- the coverage has been naive.

Superficial and contentious and judgment number three.

Can we cut defense spending as we propose to cut defense spending when this kind of thing is going on in the Middle East and if we do -- What's the impact on defense posture in the Middle East.

Well.

Politico had two quite separate questions -- Stewart can we cut defense spending yes if we do it right judiciously we can cut it.

To read by reasonable levels but can we do it as currently programmed absolutely not because it would be arbitrary sudden too deep.

And really disastrous.

But the third part and we have spoken about this.

If it's not just the amount of money we spend on defense but how we spend it.

And if you cut.

Veteran land forces soldiers and Marines the most experienced troops in the world.

In order to buy more.

Weapons that are irrelevant don't work then you get a double whammy so.

And where I would look at cutting defense related spending would be.

Cutting off all military aid and all aid to Egypt if one more event happens of the sort happened on September 11.

-- it is a pleasure to have you with is against and I hope you'll come back soon thank you very much thank you Stewart got -- all right.
