Unemployment rate is dismal eight point 1%.

Yet there are thousands make that hundreds of thousands of jobs right here in the country that are -- and banking.

It only employers could find qualified workers in fact.

Right now it is something we have to keep talking about because we need to help jobless Americans find a job and get -- to get back to work joining me now is mark Tomlinson -- Society manufacturing engineers.

Mark thanks for coming on in this is one of my big big pet issues here.

Because there are in some cases millions of jobs that are open that we don't have people trained -- in this study.

We are looking at specifically manufacturing jobs that need engineers 600000 people.

What's the problem what's the this -- -- Well there's a big disconnect in regards to skills and what the problem is as we are not educating.

Our current workforce and our future workforce in the right tools to support the needs of the manufacturing.

Enterprises that need these employees.

A big problem is the fact that.

We have stopped.

For many years actually looking at the manufacturing sector as a vital a vital part of a thriving economy because we haven't looked at that.

In that way.

Skills for those key jobs in manufacturing have gone.

Okay I'm -- so we've gotten out ecstatic we look at people right now who are unemployed.

Is it possible to retrain adults to do this jobs or is it too late for them.

No it's not too later met matter fact down as a me is very active in training.

Workers that have been -- you know taken out of jobs taken out of what I will call repetitive assembly jobs and retrain those individuals.

To get the correct skills so they can go back into the manufacturing workforce.

One weighted that can be done this by taking online learning courses.

-- you one of our -- up organizations products is is using that.

That type of method of online learning to produce.

Skilled workers that can go back into the workforce.

Okay my second question if you have a child or high school student right now.

-- somebody that you're getting ready sent off to college how do you make sure that there are studying the right things that they're gonna find a job later.

They need to look at the that this the selections in regards -- universities they're going to need to look at.

What they want to do what their problem solving skills are like.

And then make correct choices.

If they go to what I would call research universities.

They are going to come out with a degree in mechanical engineering and they're gonna be able to do -- -- She would really want -- general schools and ensure we bring shall we specifically train people for these jobs and maybe give them an incentive by making attrition cheaper making.

Loans easier to get would that solve the problem real quick -- -- a couple seconds left yet.

Yes I think that would be out of a good solution another solution is to give incentives to -- employee.

Local Community Colleges to get the right skilled workers into their workforce mark.
