Cents -- President Obama attack Mitt Romney's plan for Medicare reform of Florida this weekend.
It's a directed killed the seniors there in -- Friday in New Hampshire the president defended his administration's record on creating jobs listen to this.
Today we learned that after losing around 800000.
Jobs a month when I took office.
Business once again added jobs for the thirtieth month general a total -- more than four point six million jobs.
Again remember.
Only 96000.
Jobs -- -- -- last month just 45000.
In June.
In the meantime 368000.
People gave up looking for jobs altogether.
Senator George will move.
Florida's with us.
Us senator you know the president -- you're -- -- bring up jobs at all.
But what do you make of the the convention and how the president is faring since then.
Well Charles the reason I think he didn't bring up jobs is because -- a very difficult economy here in Florida we still have nearly a million people out of work.
And the regulations and the taxes in the laws that this president has pushed through congress have really hurt job creation in Florida when I talk to small business people.
They don't know when the next she was gonna fall autumn whether it's Obama care whether it's Dodd-Frank.
These different regulations that really chilled the market here so it's not surprising to me that the president doesn't want to talk about jobs but I think that Floridians.
Are enthusiastic about what Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan are offering they know that these -- -- guys who are focused on.
Getting Americans back to work and after your faith in your family.
To me the most important things to have a job that's what people in Florida wanna hear about they want to hear a plan to get folks working again.
Well on that note though.
The the -- with the Republican Convention.
-- was criticized pretty widely and for not having any details I -- he's going through open number twelve million sounds great especially after what we've seen the last four years but.
You know what -- his plan specifically because a lot of people don't know.
Well I think what his plan isn't what I heard is that he wants to repeal obamacare which is a big deal and -- is that -- Rihanna are real.
No it hurts it it hurts job creation to have obamacare and here's why if you have fifty employees or more.
And your health insurance doesn't meet the new obamacare standard.
Then you get taxed 2000 dollars per employee is employer.
So these folks in Florida and we are -- number one small business day we do not have a lot of big businesses not -- -- percent of our businesses are those small businesses.
They're looking at their there are there employees and their policies -- this is gonna find him 2000 dollars per employee.
They're not likely to -- to get over that fifty mark worse still if they have more than fifty they're gonna let some folks go -- that every day for business folks.
Senator what what wouldn't be I was shocked to you you understand business you understand politics if we've come to some sort of juncture in this country some sort of crossroads.
Where may be up people are saying you know what the job situation isn't as important.
As some of the things they talked about at the Democratic Convention shared prosperity.
You know loving your partner no matter who who they are and these kind of things I mean it is the country and particularly that reported this -- is resonating because the president did get something of a bump in that from the convention.
Well that's what the Democrats are preaching right -- preaching that.
We're all gonna go on this journey together and the government is gonna be your partner in this journey not -- and on American.
Story and I think that Floridians Americans.
Realize that this is the land of opportunity.
Lot of what opportunity means is you're given the chance to succeed not guaranteed something less than success which is what really the Democrats are preaching.
I do think it's a turning point election we've got a hundred million people in this country on some kind of federal assistance that's putting aside Medicare Medicare talking about.
Welfare -- -- food stamps or -- Medicaid but not Medicare and Social Security.
That's a lot of folks and there is a great divide.
What I hope that people realize is that.
The Romney Ryan ticket in my view.
Will give the opportunity.
Will focus on creating jobs a fairer and flatter tax system that's more predictable so business -- -- people can feel like they can hire again.
That's what people need in this country that's we need to get back on track.
Yeah you know what it always feels so much better when you earn that jacket weather then someone having -- -- out to you thanks a lot senator we appreciate your time this morning.
Thanks for having me --
