The hell -- were already fighting about just in case you're wondering we are our yard.

About the segment before we even start sales of organic fruit topped about 31 billion dollars last year a new study from Stanford University -- shows.

That -- more expensive choice might not actually need to better choice so is -- whole organic industry.

-- -- Keri Glassman is -- president of nutritious life and she joins us now.

With more on this occasion the Stanford study put together about four decades worth of research and I love the quote from -- space -- -- we began this project.

We would likely have some findings that would support the superiority of organic foods over conventional.

We were definitely surprised by the results.

-- you know here's the thing most people are actually not buying.

Organic because they think well -- apple has more vitamin C in this -- organic apple actually -- many other reasons to buy organic there's.

The environmental reasons there's taste people also obviously consider costs.

And then of course there's safety as far as pesticides -- and then there's also nutrition.

And other studies have shown that some organic food is more nutritious this is just obviously one can pop currently -- By because -- -- it's healthier there's actually study edited the USDA that says that 72% of people who bought organic food.

Did it because it -- -- there was a 52% said they did because they don't want the pesticides which I think well I think people sometimes think healthier healthier in general not getting the pesticides not necessarily more nutrients.

I feel like -- I have.

Always believe that it's more important to buy organic -- to avoid the lack of hormones specifically dairy products I have young daughters has been researched.

What would you make of that but I swear -- I think you bring ever really the point I think that you really have to take into account.

All factors.

And families really need to look at what's most important to -- but in my organics are intricate to avoid pesticides vs to avoid hormones and he is not a legitimate important difference well I I don't think necessarily that one is more towards a disparate -- that might be more important to you with young daughters absolutely which also brings up yet another -- like I was I was gonna say.

That -- is really have to look at what's most important to them.

Is -- the environment -- it -- they have the means to buy organic if they don't have the means you can also -- go to the Environmental Working Group and look at the dirty dozen in the -- fifteen and see where to spend your money.

And then for many people that are eating fluorescent orange you know high sodium packaged foods out of a bad going for any old apple is really the best option you just wanna get eating more fruits and vegetables and eat more real -- -- is really million bucks an -- so I'm not a huge fan of organic because I don't want.

Bonds in my acts crazy -- like bugs or.

About it it net net that note that.

I don't know yeah pesticides in at home only thing right they stopped with the pesticides in the CDT writing it ended up causing so many people death because of malaria is -- -- legitimate argument as well -- meet you can't say that.

Or keep it I mean -- -- -- another part -- study actually is trying to convince the sort of hitting on that same note.

Is fat.

-- -- the organic -- actually had less -- the antibiotic resistant bacteria so that the -- also wanna consider all of those things that happened wane with organic farming that are actually much safer for you.

Yeah if -- -- you have to take in consideration.

All the different fat containers sit the price hike on an organic food is is it worth -- is it actually costlier to have.

-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- They have a refereeing I critic you -- help us sort it.
