-- official -- the Republican nomination last night Mitt Romney's campaign will.
Be prepared to take the next step and we're joined by phone.
Right now by Maki -- is a policy director for the campaign a perfect person to talk to today because just before we.
Got -- to call and I'll money there was says the criticism that John Tammy Forbes was making and others have admitted as well that last night although.
The governor may have made at a south speech in biographical information and everything else it was a little bit light according to John and others.
On policy what do you say that johnsons well you wanted to talk about policy nothing about a strong dollar nothing and -- and the comments about China may be bordering on.
Scaring the markets and thinking we're headed towards a trade war but what about those criticisms of blast of last night's address.
Well banks have me -- -- morning apple what I say is that rep for the campaign what you even as you're either really spelled out of the governor Romney put forward.
And so he's already given us some sense over the last couple months what you'd expect the economy and -- get a growing again last night.
Which really about helping the American people understand the Mitt Romney isn't want to prepare the lead America -- here -- a lot more about policy about the don't -- -- for Barbara middle class.
And and that includes that this will -- frequently.
That -- America.
OK so what's the next step then the trade relationship -- I'm I would -- to the China policy that the governor has talked.
A lot about what's that next step let's just say that last night for the sake of this conversation look at least was effective that it accomplish that goal you talked about.
For the governor now want.
Well I think that that the next step is really demonstrating the impact of our policy of the American people -- how -- -- to help.
Spokesman middle class are gonna help -- In -- on on betrayed by that they specifically that that we in that situation but the last several years that predate President Obama.
Where -- we've really been our.
-- in dealing with countries like China that it stalled or lack of property manipulated their -- Blocked -- that the remark -- -- you know it's about time it's about time that we had a president -- step up to the -- that the but not afraid to -- the markets a little bit with that kind of talk you know.
Well you know into negotiations you've got to -- willing to say look you know we're gonna pay -- our life and ultimately I I think the Chinese suspect that.
I think they understand that your -- want to trade war and we certainly don't want a break per burned up but -- what we've editor Barack Obama.
OK let me ask you one other question because when the campaign did talk about policy the last couple -- days whether it be Paul Ryan two nights ago -- or governor Romney last night there were some questions that were brought up about.
Whether they were being misleading or stretching the truth Ryan's mention of the plant in Janesville Wisconsin the argument about Simpson Bowles.
Cuts on Medicare -- other things the fact checkers went in said -- misleading us with some of this commentary even governor Romney last night.
Talking about President Obama know quote unquote apologizing.
For America people go back and I can't really find an example of that -- say to those criticisms about facts.
Well you know what I would say is that unfortunately the Obama in -- doesn't have a whole lot if it did go on their record -- the poor one.
And everything that it represented by governor rob in all lines overlapped -- there are what we understand the liberal media is gonna be out there trying to -- -- down.
But it pretty clear evidence that President Obama has gone -- -- apologizing for America yet yet I find that.
Well he certainly went out and -- it does but the different countries -- -- -- -- -- America has dictated to them and and and that he expressed regret for.
And and I just don't think that that appropriate way to but I want ala in that -- point -- -- -- was -- last night.
Dot Lani Chan kinds of policy director for the Romney campaign thank you sir for calling in today we appreciate it.
