I'm gonna -- you have probably been following in the newspapers and on television the battled visual or of the century I'm talking Google vs apple before his death Apple's CEO Steve Jobs.

Called for a quote thermonuclear.

War against Google for stealing his idea -- And using those ideas and their android mobile operating system now last week.

A jury ordered Samsung to pay apple more than one billion dollars for violating patents on the iPhone we have eight of their devices.

The first collateral damage in the war between Google and apple it targeted Samsung but now.

There are reports that the two CEOs Tim Cook and Larry Page are having -- behind the scenes talks it's almost like the Middle East there there meeting in Denmark perhaps.

Behind the scenes talks about intellectual property rights -- -- -- ski fortune magazine as.

At large and author of the book inside apple which saved me more than once in covering apple last spring and -- -- now live.

These negotiations going on do we see a truce in the future what's going to happen.

Hi -- my yes I think there has to be -- truce in the future that's essentially what always happens in intellectual property -- situations Reuters reported that Larry Page and CEO of Google and Tim Cook.

The CEO of apple has spoken on the telephone they didn't report anything more -- that we don't know anything.

More than that about what they spoke about but here's the way these things work.

They sue each other -- there there are rulings in in trials.

And then there are light and then licenses are taken out essentially by the losers.

That's an oversimplification.

Of where this thing is heading eventually.

If you -- -- use somebody else's technology and you know that you can get sued for taking it then you pay for a license.

As a consumer because the arguments over the Samsung settlement is that -- may pay more for a Samsung device now the end of the day.

Is Google going to wind up paying licensing fees to apple did Google do with Steve Jobs accuse them of doing stealing patents.

Well of course I don't know it's -- complicates complicated by the fact that -- there at a high level the reason that apple sued Samsung and not Google.

Is that Samsung is the one selling a telephone getting revenue from -- using Google's.

Free software so it's hard to sue.

A company that is using that it it is distributing free software.

If if they you know the powers that be come to the conclusion that there's apple technology in Google's software then they'll have to take out a license.

As far as consumers go.

Cases like this can stifle competition and that.

-- you know they'll be they'll be fewer options for consumers on the other hand if a Samsung and an HT CNN LG and Google.

Have to do something different if they're able to succeed in doing something different in innovating that of course will be good for consumers.

-- down the -- are we going to see is it called the Google wallet vs the -- -- -- and might apple -- Google over the heads saying you stole our idea -- Google's.

Bash apple over that saying you stole our idea.

So the difference there is is that -- right now these companies and everybody else are essentially fighting.

Feature by feature by feature over everything on the cell phone and everything on the tablet and so there's some mobile payments.

Wallet issue.

Is -- -- yet another example of that Apple's product is called the passport it's not really a product because they've announced that.

But they haven't released it yet they announce these things early so that they can get their partners working on Google wallet does exist.

But it is supposed to be adding.

Many more features so I don't know where this will go from an intellectual property or patent perspective but what I would point out.

Is its very early days for all of these teachers and for all of these products and these are just two of the players there's many many more players involved here.

I got to wrap up with -- Adam but very quickly when we were teenagers the question was ginger -- now the question is how -- -- iPad.

There is is the question to me horrible what do you have -- vehicles is our -- -- pat -- -- -- iPad I'm not sure that's ginger or Mary and but I he's an iPad are right now.

All right analyst in -- if you haven't read his book inside -- on hold it up here because I was such a fan of his but you're really did save you -- you have grapple.

I encourage you to read if you want some insight and how Tim Cook is going forward with this company and -- people and apple actually function missiles since -- thank you very much.
