-- top ten last weekend and beating.

So big Hollywood blockbusters across a lot more to make -- take a little peek at the film.

America simply.

Our founding fathers.

Most perfect liberty.

Things -- so liberty grows.

So what was Hollywood's reaction to this box office surprise Peter -- CEO of Mandalay Entertainment Group joins us right now Peter thanks for joining us.

Big question is why do you think this film is doing so well at the box office.

What are three reasons one is will this part of August is a soft part of the season not a not lot of new offerings.

Not a lot of new marketing -- big projects so they got a good window is right near the obviously the conventions they got -- interested audience which is the second thing and third -- They did a good job in marketing a grassroots almost faith based they went to the talk shows on radio on television.

Through go to its constituency.

They -- them up and they churned out.

Now Peter -- the closest thing you think to -- -- air from the opposite side of political spectrum is Michael Moore.

Kind of advocacy journalism documentary thing.

Is Hollywood surprise to see it coming from the right is right I can't think of an example from the right that stats match what Michael Moore does.

Very much so very much so and there was no predictions that this is going to be a successful financially or as an audience wise.

As this happened you remember it opened in one screen went alike and -- the sixteen screens and has last week I think it was placed fourth on the whole national.

Box office chart my wife.

By the -- my wife shot up in Cape Cod yesterday.

She said it was it was full and there was a line coming out.

And by the way the people sitting next to -- were pro Obama so it's not only the anti Obama people going to see it.

What that it's a curious film because it is a documentary but it isn't political advocates say we know that -- -- -- certainly not you journalists fooled by that it is there is a point have you know it's got music and graphics it's not knows it is advancing a particular point of DO.

Now what's interesting is it was presented us.

It's very artfully very uniquely.

Out of the fact that culprit -- survey -- as many very successful films in the marketplace so.

This is that this is a business that we'll see more are just some more -- the faith based audience wherever you can advocating in Tunisia and they'll turn out.

You're gonna get more business in that market.

Makes you wonder if this is gonna send a message -- -- -- ahead.

That typically puts out very liberal based films that perhaps is an audience that third -- not reaching out there.

Well Hollywood operates by the golden rule -- makes the gold gets the -- and now that's the -- the opposite sides subject here is where does that audience they're -- be drawn to.

And I think you'll see more of these films but in -- ways.

Where the audiences around an event like that elect -- Republican -- Other Democratic Convention boards around some particular issue that is very hot in the marketplace and I think that's what happened but it was a very.

Uniquely done filming had a lot of aspects to it detonated you know very interest thing and it's got a lot of -- and noise and that gets audiences turn out.

-- while I'm wondering about a spill over into the general entertainment industry Peter because you look at the Hunger Games for exam man they -- reading some negative -- But when I look at the cover a Hunger Games I credit I credit scene.

As sort of a Tea Party message here that you know off the central government gets too concentrated.

The whole country's gonna become slaves and at -- -- is is is the message is sort of libertarian.

Message being spun out -- entertainment pure entertainment as well.

When did separate -- people's minds thoughts political views.

Attitudes and -- -- -- they're all mixed in and got the gold your brain.

And your psyche is drawn to something that fits that pattern and certainly this is in the -- there right now so people are drawn -- And -- a lot of curiosity about it has been a lot of knows about it.

So I think you will -- That kind of continuing.

I don't wanna call -- polarization.

But presenting entertainment as -- entertainment and infotainment that's emerging and because the audiences so if you will.

Drawn to that kind of polarization it has so advocates say much advocacy unit I think you will see more of that.

I gotta I gotta ask one quick question about the Dodgers you were part owner of the Los Angeles charges new part owner.

You made that would I think is the biggest trade in history with the Boston Red Sox got a whole lot of Boston players -- and what can you tell us about that trade what is gonna pay off for the Dodgers.

Well it's like -- -- it's it's an opportunity.

But it has to be mind and you can't tell what a trade will pay off until maybe a year -- up will it give adult life -- -- -- with Stan Kasten book as a CEO put that deal together.

We needed a lineup we didn't have a lineup in the early part of July now this can give you a -- and six lineup.

-- you know this is a team that's a core asset a Major League Baseball so we have to be competitive and has been big trades look at the angels -- you compete against in the market.

They -- annual about polls and India and the idea is that they 240 million dollars from so pricing is important.

But performance is the -- and that will be tested for both sides of the trade.

Can shedding those assets and those costs for the Red Sox allow them to rebuild.

And we can we have in the dodges.

-- kind of franchise with -- kind of batting order and bitching right that'll become nationally champs RA it will from Hollywood to baseball you covered it -- -- thank you Peter.

Either way congrats on the win against Denver last night there was a good -- Joseph Clinton's first -- -- --
