-- -- -- -- -- alluded to in terms of the rain there's Jeff Flock.
In the middle of it still Jeff.
But -- account all the rain has just not let up you know you could see the wind is a little bit.
-- lesson we have of course you know we're gonna get variations and that's that's the way.
The storm goes even though that the center of circulation is a little closer to us -- -- -- -- but we last talked.
But I tell -- the one thing that has not let offices rain he has just been relentless at a time just drenching.
-- And not quite as bad as it has been.
Now as it was before but it just still hasn't let up and to me that it's going to be one of the key.
Factors for the lawless figure out how they deal what -- Part is that what makes us effective system -- You know to keep up with this kind of this kind of -- -- particularly if it does sit over -- what time.
Talk about slow movement -- -- -- what -- and at all.
Hopeful walking around trying to get a little bit with as we got to keep our camera.
I sheltered up under the that your I don't wanna lose.
Camera -- about the middle.
Now straight right now it's money in New Orleans.
Katrina.
This is how we got -- -- Levy went.
I was at a hotel couple blocks over and what we did -- we drove in the water up -- -- Train tracks on canal street and it was just enough to get the car on and off.
Driving down there they.
The trolley tracks the middle canal street -- just a little bit elevated and so that was enough to in the car.
Out and out to safety for us but.
At this point that pumping system has handled that well Poland maybe that's -- or get down to wanted to storm -- -- show -- -- All clearing very well so so far so good.
Depending on how long we get this kind of -- It.
And we'll think we will say it's not what look at that -- Just -- to show you real quick glance look up at the F.
He's an indirect and direct shelter there and then as the wind comes around that -- starts at.
That may launch at some point.
This -- sort of thing -- -- but that doesn't go away because.
These are protection but the -- they -- -- does club and go.
It's common right now.
-- -- Qaeda is a tough situation this wind frankly blowing -- -- did -- give us any kind of analysis but you talked about that.
Pumping system Jeff they put into place after Katrina we talk a lot about the levees and the structural improvements in the -- how much larger the levees are all that kind of thing but tell us what the -- -- system or or how much different better it is from your understanding.
You know seven years after Katrina what they did to improve it.
The old pumping system results that you know soap and dating back some of the stuff that David.
Truly been tested I mean Camille was the last big what -- they had back at 65 so.
You know it was due for an upgrade but of course -- cities are finding all over the country these states infrastructure improvements were very difficult obviously when.
Katrina happened federal government got involved and they were able to upgrade the pumping system.
Such that.
The current system is able to move the amount of water to Olympic size pool.
That amount of water in four seconds so it has a tremendous impact.
The pumps before document dated when -- levees broke we still don't know this this likely not to be that much.
Now because.
You know the true test of the let me -- pick up pubs.
-- my company's.
We're gonna tell us with a major water that if indeed we get twentieth -- -- four inches of great dumped in the city of your -- proper.
-- you mentioned earlier that you saw some of the entity that was around I'm curious now that that.
That daylight is starting to.
-- come out unfortunately New Orleans kind of what it what are your surroundings look like at this point is saying any true damage and also a do you still have powered DC -- down the street from me right now.
Power is all good up and down.
Canal street and everywhere else I can see.
All the power is all on.
I don't wins if you're able to see that white I don't wanna pull -- -- I think -- a bunch of energy trucks.
Stage right here on canal.
Ready to respond.
And we saw on the way you know.
And here.
-- -- before yesterday a lot of these trucks coming some of them coming from Florida you know.
Power companies -- pretty good job of cooperate equity.
If one company has issues they are able to divert.
Get trucks diverted ahead resources diverted from places that are not being hit by -- storm of them -- And so we saw a lot and until their return -- ready for.
A majority in the Entergy trucks.
Here but I don't wanna get wind down the middle of the street here.
Looks like obviously we're having issues that Jeff Flock shot -- -- can be found that on.
Yeah and it was -- -- has come in and out is back with those but obviously -- -- on the -- Harris now I know that you've got some you know -- -- -- -- but.
I do want to ask you kind of go back to the fact that really you have been doing this for so many years -- your experience that category one.
Can be justices struck dead as a category three.
Not you kind of been -- conditions overnight with Isaac.
How are you -- -- this storm is actually impacting that the surrounding areas do you feel like.
The sizzle but the winds are saying miles per hour you made you may tell me something else.
I -- a category one storm if it's a small little storm that flows -- it.
-- it you know it offensive.
Small area this -- it isn't -- interesting storm because that is so large.
He has affected a very wide area we you know we're not -- on the show what we're gonna get on the shoreline right now.
That's why like to go for hurricanes because well number one you don't get a lot of debris -- -- -- -- You know you're standing funded they're standing on the -- for your standing on the Atlantic Ocean and you get water you get wind and water -- an actor but don't bring.
We're not seeing.
The impacts of the surge you know you've got a huge storm blowing a lot of water on the land.
That.
Such as search can be tremendously damaging as well as the flooding that's gonna you know crew from from the -- balls fall right.
-- thank you very much -- there's always Jeff Flock tracking hurricane I've taken from the middle of the city of new Orleans back to Jeff at a moment but right now to our.
