The economy playing a major part in this election and last night -- very I'm Neil Cavuto spoke with former Florida governor Jeb Bush.

An -- asked if he was tired of hearing his brother former president George W.

Bush.

Getting the blame for all our economic troubles.

Three years almost -- years it's time to start taking response.

They haven't worked there wouldn't I think the American people kind of tired of blaming somebody else -- Lehman brother richest person you know me and I can't deny the fact that I'm not intended about a month ago.

Neil Cavuto is -- senior vice president managing editor of Fox Business joining us now from Tampa hey Gayle.

-- -- and I'm dead in what one thing that jumped out -- may and much has been talked about.

Related to it -- debt clocks I have on the floor there.

Because that is a very obvious way of the Republicans trying to drive Tom what they want the American people to thank our -- -- economic problems.

On top of on employment right now do you think they work.

Well usually isn't usually think about it if you were say even a couple of years ago that you would showcase a debt clock.

Not only nationally where we stand but just since the sort of a convention where we stand.

A lot of he -- scratching their heads as -- whatever.

But it is a galvanizing issue for the delegates are gathering here and for Republicans in general they think with this ticket and addressing federal spending.

And rating it under control it will be an issue that will work to their advantage we'll see.

Governor -- dozens of I spoke last night competing with -- practicing on the like.

That's the one thing by the way -- you have to get used to -- because.

If you get very -- all of a sudden and they can almost obliterate malaria talkative but.

Having said that the what they did governor bush believes strongly a lot of others attending this -- -- strongly and the marquee list of speakers tonight -- -- -- Is that by pounding this message we're going broke fast and we don't have the money.

Not only.

Can we not build on that we can't even have a country with that so this is something that will be part and parcel of almost every speech -- -- even and Romney and our approach to sort of -- -- -- husband.

Tonight in her remarks she will remind people.

That he's a lovable likable even comical guy but she will always fall back on the fact that yeah he's in our -- -- business already knows what he's doing.

If you wanna win a popularity contests he might not be your guy but he is the guy for -- that debt clock.

And all of these other big issues so that's the self that's the point that will be really the focus of the kick off of this convention now.

And if he wants a via the hammer home a message I think you would be hard put to find somebody better -- Governor Chris Christie hit -- road near by and stay for -- and.

You know it's interesting because Chris Christie's speech tonight comes at a time.

We -- the numbers have not been going his way new Jersey's unemployment rate.

Is -- northeast region -- nine point 8% so he will save this sort about New Jersey miracle cut but talk.

For maybe another venue what he will say is -- change direction here.

A blue state went read we took some bold moves they response and they -- -- turnaround is an instantaneous.

But but trust me New Jersey gets it union households in New Jersey get me.

And and he he's gonna give -- but probably this crowd that the red meat they wanted to hear and -- and he's going to do it in a way that is inevitably.

His own when he came in this room yesterday and again this morning.

He does have rock star like status.

-- and no matter how you you feel about the guy.

You did did that -- over personality is something that this convention will.

We'll certainly need to showcase the one criticism you hear Mitt Romney dig -- and you've -- it.

Again and again is -- -- you know mr.

-- corporate suits and and that might not necessarily be an issue for fixing the economy and turning it around.

But it could be an issue to getting Americans on his side because a lot of poll takers here -- -- said that in any other environment with the economy we're looking at.

That this ticket should be comfortably in the lead it's the like ability issue that has given Barack Obama the advantage he has.

The jury still out as whether this convention addresses that.

But for now the goal tonight is to show Mitt Romney's business credentials.

And this parties -- -- credentials they moved -- both of those things and then and Romney cells -- husband on electability thing.

They hope and pray they'll be off to the race.

Since then I'll be watching tonight mr.

covered so don't dial it and expect that.

I'm -- -- thank you so much for -- here this morning Disneyland going to be and I mean that.
