When you hear about the health care industries is usually some depressing news business wise but the mobile health care industry is actually booming in Silicon Valley.

And everybody wants and.

So how will these new mobile apps change the industry joining us now -- girls rock health co-founder.

-- would love talking to people like you because you're very much on the forefront of the war where the real money may be made in the next couple of years especially when you look at what's going on in Silicon Valley.

Health care has become very hot first of all in what form these are all apps what are they doing for people.

Sure so -- targets digital health and that's not just necessarily apps that's online platforms that's a lot of the technology.

That you see coming out of Silicon Valley today.

Except for its targeted.

At 20% of US GDP is targeted at health care you see all over health care regardless of policy -- an emphasis on value.

And value as the quality that you can the -- over the cost and there's no better way to reduce cost and make things efficient than with a scrappy start up.

And so we're seeing a lot of creativity from all of these Silicon Valley areas that have previously been invested in social media and in gains.

And all that creative energy is now being applied towards health care and let all of.

Let's just talk about revenue for second here because people -- interest is how to make money out of all this of course an average I was get right to advertising.

When when anybody gets sick these days usually the first thing -- was go to the computer look online to see what they're Simpson symptoms are and how they match up.

I would think that's the perfect place for pharmaceutical company to advertise know.

There's a lot of potential for advertising.

There's -- a lot of potential for directing to the right type of content for that patient you know in the past few years.

We've seen everybody doctors and patients -- adopt the iPhone iPhone justice that it had its what fifth birthday.

And now there's no such thing as a dumb fun anymore every -- you go to the store can search Google so as a doctor as soon as I talk to a patient.

I know that they're gonna go Google whatever I just said.

Yeah okay so what what what we're looking at a some big names that everybody knows Merck Genentech and Nike but.

In the end these other little learning games no movies no via -- -- -- know gimbal -- spoke these are companies that are -- something in.

And doing -- and it's clear that some of the bigger guys on the on the market out there the big names who want in on the little names because they're more innovative.

Absolutely no the medicine is graduating from our program today.

They've made it so that you can have a virtual office visit with your dermatologist that saves cost you get right to the point of convenience.

It's with your doctor bypasses all the steps along the way and it uses secure digital and mobile technology to get you there.

But I use a graduate from your program white what exactly do you -- your program what are you need for a degree from your.

Institute of rock -- Shares Iraq television national included -- for startups you know.

It's hard to get to with these teams of two -- gotten creative entrepreneurs it's hard to get everything you need to succeed in health care.

Because you need hospitals and you doctors scientists lawyers FDA approval.

You know you need insurance arm and so we bring all of those people together in one curriculum.

And that allows them to consolidated resources and being much more effective.

For instance one of the -- that's also graduating from our program today -- -- metrics has built a format for your bathroom.

And you can essentially stand on that format and it'll never circulation going through your feet well why is that important well because -- diabetes which is obviously prevalent in this country.

You lose circulation and you lose ability in your feet to feel.

And actually diabetic foot ulcers which -- almost 100000.

Very expensive debilitating amputations per year.

If your format powered by digital technology from Silicon Valley and Boston can recognize and cut that off -- the pass.

Then you can prevent a lot of unnecessary is surgeries and procedures and save enormous amount of of money and grief in the health care.

-- and they we don't know how successful one of -- at least one of the social media names that has gone public has been that's linked in and there's a company called docks -- Which is like a linked -- for doctors what are the chances at some of these would eventually go public and and -- was an Angel investor are there ways for people to get in on what you're doing.

Absolutely so as far as rock health goes if we start our next class next Monday applications open anyone's interest -- -- encouraged -- Iraq health dot com and apply.

And then as far as the power of social networks.

I would say no matter how FaceBook stock is doing look at the like button.

And the like button just celebrated its second birthday in April.

And I feel like I've been using -- my entire life it's ubiquitous social media technology just like mobile technology is here to stay.

We're not sure what company is going to be successful -- we've definitely seen from Linkedin.

And certainly from companies like proximity that if you target a specific vertical network you have a tremendous chance to be extremely successful and extremely target in your revenue models.

And I think those same concepts that are seeing succeed all over various verticals and Silicon Valley are really -- jump start health technologies as well.

-- gross your great -- them by the way just in case anybody was curious.

He is an MD and a Harvard business MBA so it's -- that combination he's got it all is well qualified to teach these things.
