Where do you get your -- as cable TV and the Internet give us more options more Americans say they get their news from.
Comedians like Jon Stewart Stephen col -- And also from people like Greg Gutfeld he's been posting a 3 AM show on Fox News called red -- for the past five years.
Now he's co host of the five so.
Greg I wasn't sure what the call -- you say you're not comedians now.
I had too much respect for comedians comedians actually stand up in front of people.
And endured the slings and arrows from drunks.
I have the comfort being in the studio and if anybody yells at me we have an escorted out beaten so basically -- safe.
I would never tell a joke if I knew wasn't funny.
And somebody could kill me our secure on the Fox News Channel right and you're not just making jokes about stuff you're covering the news at the same time.
-- and why is that good.
I think it's good because your offering your your offering information in a different way we get the news spoon fed to us the same way the same shared a -- assumptions.
From all the major networks that anything about fox is that it doesn't operate that way and allow somebody like me who should not be allowed really near.
Film camera hero at 3 in the morning and read yes your ratings in the group of people the advertisers care about often beat CNN.
In prime time it's pretty hilarious.
And again I think it says it may be.
I'd like to blow my own horn but I can't -- it says more about.
What they do you.
Than what we do when that is they're boring and were not -- we're presenting news.
In a different -- work we present news that we he would talk about it at a bar.
And when your at a bar you -- you drink a bit.
And you say things that are on your mind that you normally wouldn't say.
That's red eye and in some cases the five it's like saying like you know what this socks which would normally say -- -- had three Beers.
And magazine -- been just ridiculous often itself -- almost been called 2009 who is America's most trusted newscaster at the top.
Brian Williams of NBC then Charlie Gibson when I was working at the time ABC Katie -- on at 7%.
But then at the top of the list Jon Stewart 44%.
Right -- all.
In -- that's the online poll they didn't mean much but arrest the -- Real poll -- nearly a third of Americans under the age of forty see their primary source of news.
Is either The Daily Show Jon Stewart or Stephen Colbert -- both those -- both of those.
-- -- they're incredibly talented.
The majority the audience.
Do not pay bills they do not get a paycheck they have no fundamental understanding of how the world works therefore.
This makes sense thing that I find -- -- global comical about The Daily Show.
Is the idea that -- -- -- its -- in the same way college students think they're daring you know cause you know when he moves away gets it it gets a nose ring that to him is a risk.
I think daily show making fun of Republicans is somehow daring when in fact.
They aren't speaking truth to power they're actually making out with -- they're constantly defending those who are in power.
How is that rebellion college students seated rebellion because it mirrors their own assumptions.
The academic the professors assumptions these are all the same I grew up and -- grew up around this but I went to Berkeley that I worked in publishing.
Everybody thinks like Jon Stewart.
In the media everybody is conventionally liver exact his audience is -- yeah yeah I say that Tito he his audience is a mirror that claps.
Title this shows the media get it wrong what do you think the media get -- A lot of things -- the thing that drives me nuts is selective outrage.
You know where somebody.
Can get extremely.
Upset about Rush Limbaugh and demanded apology while overlooking.
Every single thing you know -- -- said Bill Maher said.
Louie CK who I really like.
As sets an outrageous things about Sarah Palin.
I don't really care about what people say.
-- words don't hurt me when people feign outrage.
How how can you be out -- how like Blake Sandra you know flocked -- -- you calling you know.
Not getting their free pills and untenable burden an untenable burden is cancer you know what I mean anybody who is in his notes -- with cancer that's a burden.
So it's not really got their outrage but that they are aware that they're happy they're out to get a scalp.
And they don't just want -- -- didn't want rush's apology they wanted his job and it goes both ways the left does this the right that's it to the left the right gets mad at Bill -- the left gets mad rush.
It's all that -- isn't more outrage against the right of course people demonize the Tea Party move absolutely but Occupy Wall Street not -- -- -- doing it longer.
That the real -- has been doing that left has been doing laundry and is therefore better -- it.
The funny thing about the media's in the initiative.
Should have.
Championed the Tea Party these are people who had never let their living rooms to protest these -- bonafide real -- this is the real deal.
Yeah they don't throw chairs through windows -- they -- the windows.
-- these are really good people never done anything however the media chooses to embrace.
Bob seasoned professional activist people who.
Activist for a living that's what disgusted me Occupy Wall Street these -- the same people you see every day there was nobody -- out there.
And one more example that throws me he was all this liberal outrage.
-- dipped below -- exist it yeah and then President Obama was elected.
Ended gitmo -- yet I put this under my theory called -- oh.
OK under Obama.
There's a lot of things that fall under that.
-- -- -- You can -- selectively targeting American citizens for assassination could you imagine if bush stated I'm actually you know I think a -- has done a really good job going after terrorist.
But I know that the left wouldn't feel that way if bush was doing it.
It's okay under Obama thank you Greg got itself my pleasure regulations on the high ratings for the five and you're -- -- -- read I very soon.
I'm holding you to that.
Three in the more we taped her.
