To energy analyst Chris -- -- -- -- -- up the phone now.

And get drilling here now but we're not doing that we're not doing makers are doing just the opposite what do you make of -- -- the president doesn't want lower gas prices except to get him out of a very temporary.

Political jam up.

He came in office vowing our gas prices cap and tax was designed to include -- higher gas prices.

His secretary of energy presumably after an interview process said the goal was European -- gas prices he's done nothing to increase production on federal -- he's trying to strangle a private -- and the most substantive admission on their part was.

That their testimony to congress about his very first budget was they stated nine times in the written testimony OK so this wasn't slip of the tongue.

That we over produce oil and gas in America and to the extent we do -- budget in their policies were designed to alleviate.

That problem so he doesn't want lower gas prices if he did he would be doing things as you allude to.

Increased domestic production now I don't subscribe to many newspapers -- but I understand tonight Canadians wanted to send us.

About 750000.

Barrels a day.

Through a pipeline which is 50% of what more than 50% what the -- send us everyday so pick a tremendous increase in Saudi production.

This is about a short term fix to get him out of a short term political problem he doesn't want lower gas prices.

You know what scares me a little bit about this is that -- guard at the end of the saudis out of time but of course.

Any moment that battle region good blow up that's always seems that indicates I know but.

The fact of the matter is we get most of our oil from the United States are -- we have it.

And and yet we we failed to measurably increase this year we get from our own.

Country and that and that and that is like -- -- LA have a we have it then why -- -- -- others floor.

Here's the thing the president is indicating as part of his campaign that increasing domestic production is a good thing despite everything I just said.

Now if that -- the case their policies would be very different.

And it again they have argued that we overproduced in America instead he is still the Brazilians were going to be very good customers and -- US taxpayer dollars to subsidize their offshore drilling while the permit toward -- is in place here he hasn't changed the fact that we only -- 3% of the outer continental shelf.

Using -- disingenuous talking point to give -- the opposite impression.

This is not about increasing access he's made it quite clear this is he calls it fuel of the past.

Well and meanwhile he promotes Windmills which are celebrating their 125 birthday and still haven't moved out of the mother's basement -- only on federal subsidies help.

Again this is purely short term political.

But it's also as you point out very dangerous we have the world's largest hydrocarbon resources.

So he uses -- disingenuous talking point to -- reserves.

Which is an SEC.

Originated legal term.

Which is very low because for decades it was unlawful to go look where -- geologists -- the oil was so it's all about.

The slippery talking points and not about national security increasing our domestic access.

Amazing amazing Chris Chris -- is always good having you Chris Horner -- so.

Virginia.
