Skipping on defending himself from democrats' attacks will be Mitt Romney seems to be long gone.

Now he's facing his attackers had on Romney today blasting Harry Reid's claims that he has not pay taxes.

By saying his pay at least -- 13% tax rate over the past ten years with more Byron York chief political correspondent for the Washington examiner.

-- welcome to the show again it's great to have you here.

I'd hear what is this does satisfy Democrats because let's face it Romney did not turn over any details there's no paper out there -- saying I paid.

At least 13% every -- I I think the bigger question is Willis satisfy Republicans and a lot of Republicans really wanted to see Mitt Romney start.

Firing back at Democrats I remember.

Wasn't too long ago he was accused of being a fell one of of signing false legal papers about when volatility -- cancer and then come.

Toward and -- the added that he killed a woman who -- at work in an old bank company and then there was Harry Reid's.

Accusation about not paying any taxes for a decade.

So now has come out and he said no I did pay taxes for the whole decade of course and I never paid less than 13% in federal income tax.

But it's not gonna satisfied Democrats -- all they've already been asking all day usual show is proof show us proof.

Right and Harry -- spokesman said will believe it will we see it until met Ronnie releases his tax returns Americans will continue to wonder what -- What he's hiding so -- questions continue.

But what about other questions what about.

Ryan Paul Ryan the new running mate after Mitt Romney what do you think of -- what do you make of them.

Well he came out swinging a little more today in two ways one he he -- -- -- a little bit at Joseph Biden.

In an amusing way word you know Biden had forgotten what state he was and with -- he was in Danville Virginia.

The other day and Ryan came -- and Ohio and he said you know as Joseph Biden would say it's great to be here in Nevada -- I was so -- Have a little fun -- Joseph Biden's expense but he's also taking on Medicare now for the first time.

Mean hasn't even been the nominee for or the candidate for a week yet.

But his first speech as he kind of avoided Medicare he completely avoided as a matter of fact didn't use the word.

But today in Ohio we said look this is -- a debate we wanna have.

It's were happy to have this and this is a debate we -- to win.

We just -- we just play that sound as a matter of fact buyer Byron.

Do you think they're trying to get this out of the way early in the campaign cycle them.

Well how they they you know it's very interesting that Romney knew when he picked Ryan that this was going to be a big deal and it probably wouldn't wouldn't end.

Before the conventions that Democrats will keep pushing it after the convention so which is seen is a very aggressive push back from the Romney campaign kind of a meta scare of their own.

Where there -- accusing Barack Obama of taking 700 billion dollars out of Medicare to fund obamacare and it's that saying that they wouldn't do that so.

They're being very aggressive on Medicare but it's entirely possible -- and that this fighting to a draw -- the whole thing.

Yeah and as you sit back and look at all this it you know there's been a lot of questions about -- as a candidate do you think Ryan's really given him more fire here.

-- they seemed to get along well they seem to have energized each other I think there's no doubt that Romney has been kind of feisty year.

And five or six days since the since the introduction of -- so I don't know if that continues but that we've we've known since a long time since -- Wisconsin primary.

Back in the Republican primary season that they get along very well.

And does it it appears that that the presence of -- has been kind of shot in the arm for Romney.

Well nothing bad can happen at Miami of Ohio which is where Ryan once today.

-- thanks for going on tonight really appreciate your time.
