John Major transformation is taken place in the NFL and it's driven by the numbers and by efficiency.

Pass things become a much bigger -- part of the game and -- teams have gotten better at it seems figure they didn't need it a star running back.

Partly because of that when two or three is cheaper guys as opposed to the star and a partner -- up with a strong offensive line.

To do a better job now I asked the hall of fame running back Barry Sanders about all this about whether his position still matter.

I think -- uncertainty means.

On certain teams is not as much of a priority.

As not in with some of a priority as you would think but at the same time.

On the -- look at for instance the patriots they don't have a dominant runner but they steal.

Had three of four guys that they had to get 1617100.

Yards on -- They still they still -- that.

And so.

You know in in years past you know most most juries -- -- it went to 12 guys now now is one of more guys but but.

But I same token.

Every team didn't have Tom Brady in somebody's somebody's office of coordinators are -- and that.

I need -- -- forty niners they run the ball they realize they they cannot depend on their quarterback who brought back -- we -- times.

And so mom.

But what that there's there has there's certainly been a shift -- Is.

As a priority.

You know run the ball in in the that's that's very real.

I think -- the reason I Aston and you give a perfect example with the patriots and 49 is is another good one.

Is because you know -- -- it seems making a business decision about where to invest their money.

Would they be better off in your view and obviously I'm I'm sure from your experience -- going to be -- a little -- in this investing in a guy like a Barry Sanders who can get the -- matter the offensive line is.

Or getting an average to good running back with a great offensive line which is more valuable to -- -- thing.

Well I think I think as far as the trend.

If you're talking while the trend in the NF fill in what most.

Public support interstate you're probably.

Looking at in most cases.

They average running back -- -- -- a and and investing in more and and other areas but are they right are those guys right that think that.

Not necessarily and that's really again because I think -- -- -- -- the other pieces to proposal.

You know you don't you don't have.

That many guys that can do with -- many does.

And and I think that's one of the prior wanted to be pitfalls that some -- support -- fallen to back I can think of several guys that they just.

They've known for just a wing in the ball when you don't you don't always have a -- that that you can do that -- -- you know also but.

But also you you know depends on you know what would would -- you have around these guys but we you know we it is no mistake about it -- the quarterback position.

And in the office of mine and things like that our premium now and in today's game.

And a -- you're talking about a a a unique special type of -- pretty good conversation right there with the great Barry sand.
