And while it is -- first of the month and a lot of the auto sales numbers are in not all of them mind you but enough says.

Garner a trend if you will with two American automakers Ford and GM -- short of expectations.

Joining us with more on what to make of these disappointing numbers is Rebecca Lynne and I just stricter automotive research Rebecca it's great to see you again how much -- -- you here for more predicting overall vehicle sales come in above fourteen million and -- we weren't shy of that.

Number we think we are we don't have the finals -- -- we were hoping to -- about fourteen point one million unit the seasonally adjusted rate so annually we're looking at fourteen point three stay out.

But we're hoping to be fourteen point one and we don't think we're gonna get how -- or do you think it'll -- we are hoping for fourteen right now I mean it could be as low as thirteen point 8% of think mezzanine agency with a -- economic conditions at the situation in China slowing in the European prompted talk about.

Obviously Japan in Asia still dealing with tragedies in the aftermath right.

What we're still seeing year over year comparison issues because of last year's tsunami and the Thailand floods.

The so we're still seeing some of those but.

We factor and a lot of those into the forecast and that's why it's disappointing when we.

Miss it by as much as we did it was -- -- 20000 units had GM at about 20000 units have four.

The positive -- we -- and we were right on with our track with that pick -- truck sales in particular.

Chrysler we were also right on and it and for pick up trucks -- -- Chrysler actually posted a gain of 13% year over year.

The other headline is that you mentioned -- on me.

I Toyota 26%.

Even despite its eat -- -- really really getting nine on track here.

And really outpacing the American automakers has -- troubling.

Well -- it isn't it's not his or some underlying issues here we are seeing very impressive year to year comparisons because last July was so bad for that for the Japanese manufacturers.

What we are concerned about -- GM and Ford.

Is that going.

And that this -- really to sell off season of August.

Are they going to be able to get rid of all the 2012.

Before the turn -- -- thirteenth.

Coming into the show -- how does that factor in at the big problem with GM with a serious decline in rental fleet customer sales 41%.

Down since incest not a bad thing because they're not always very profit about.

So that's why it's good that we stock truck sales doing doing very well -- meeting forecasts expectations.

-- -- daily rental fleet and and governments announced some Lucent could those can really predicting in the balance sheet so it's the quality of the sales he really wanna concentrate out.

First is just the quantity want to kind of quickly and forty -- been a US darling is -- slipping here.

It's been -- I work on global product and went when when we're looking -- for on a global basis we see them reaching parity.

But not quite continuing momentum so we definitely has some concerns on fort Rebecca -- -- you know your stuff thanks so much I got that I had a guy.
