-- is with the council of Better Business Bureau she is the CEO went in town today to ring the closing bell -- York stock exchange so first what an honor congratulations on that congratulations on 100 years.

I'm mostly curious as -- -- What types of consumers are complaining the most in about what are they complain.

You know hundred years we've seen at all snake all of oil merchants it's -- Phishing scams and you can imagine we've -- with the times.

The kind of complaints yeah that we see.

Most often now -- things that you are consumer facing.

Anything from home remodeling repairs car repairs cell phone contracts those sort of things cable so we think of the things that consumers most used -- in line with the types of complaints that we would receive.

Internet scams have to be at the top your last you know huge we're just ahead on line world now the better business -- had to -- just like consumers have -- in their purchasing.

Their reviews the way they find out about companies on our business reviews to the way they compliant is online so.

Yeah international -- there are no walls any longer.

In -- is no longer any walls between business transaction is it tougher for the Better Business Bureau to track down these Internet scams and -- you go about reacting to that you know.

That's a great question because we have a lot of ways that we work together it's a huge network of better business -- a 115 in North America.

We work very closely with law enforcement so our job is -- reporting.

Is and giving information -- at a time what we hope is that consumers come to its first.

Before they do business look at our business reviews and we know that those numbers are growing consumers are more educated now.

Over 100 million times consumers turn to -- in the last year for what we call pre purchase information.

And our numbers are complaints are going down what does that mean consumers are more educated -- use the Internet to sign things out.

Yeah I got to -- Olympics are big theme right now.

Absolutely and what we find is most scams are relevant to what's going on in national news you -- so if you see a huge weather related of that.

Storm Chasers if you see something like that when the NFL has its super ball any of the playoffs scams are going to be relative to what his big in the news.

Because people believe that they can trust company so we always advised consumers forty spend -- money calls for.

How involved is it for company how costly is it for a company to be.

That's to have the Better Business Bureau stamp of approval either on the website -- become our seal it's a very valuable -- -- -- it's more than.

It's more about standards than about costs and that's one thing that we believe that -- hundred years.

Is the very foundation and wire organization has -- and maintain for -- -- -- -- it it depends on the company size just quickly is it safer for consumer you know shopping online smaller business website if if they see your seal.

It adds extra set -- if they have a -- they've gone through a very strict set of standards for accreditation and we checked those.

It's real time every year it's a full review privacy.

You're there read but in exchange policies they're advertising a lot goes into that it's more than a membership it's all about standards for accreditation -- hurt -- nice to see if al-Qaeda -- a lot of pleasure thank you.

Coming up tonight on money we're gonna have more in today's GDP numbers with former.
