I'm Robert Gray would you -- Fox Business -- stocks moving higher up.

Afternoon trading strong earnings from Boeing Caterpillar powering the blue chips higher.

The NASDAQ and SP 500 also now higher after sharp drop in new home sales and a rare earnings miss from apple since those indices in a negative territory earlier.

Right now the Dow is up a 110 points a gain of nearly 1%.

And congress is preparing for a symbolic showdown over middle class tax cuts the senate will begin the voting process on the Republican -- It would extend the bush tax rate for all Americans that starts at 4 PM eastern.

-- -- -- senators will vote on the democratic measure that only includes tax cuts.

For Americans making less than 250 grand a year the majority vote is needed to pass either measure.
