Would be if it were the GSA were talking about actually.

Here with me now is representative John.

South Florida Republican chairman of the transportation and infrastructure committee congressman thanks for being with -- Good to be with you about bad day again for the taxpayers.

When GSA is that's -- again out of control.

Yeah -- give us these -- latest details because this just seems like.

More and more continues to come out it's been two years since this original conference and we keep getting more and more infuriating details.

Well interestingly.

Enough this dribbles out a little bit -- time this conference just sick.

Place a few days actually a month after the October 2010.

Conference out in Las Vegas.

And this was right near our nation's capital mostly for bureaucrats.

That work in the Washington.

Area.

The out of -- the expenditure is outrageous 270000.

Dollars for one day.

A 104000.

Dollars for.

-- coordinator for the event.

And then they spent 20000.

Dollars now I'm not make -- -- up I've got the facts 20000 dollars for -- sticks.

And you mentioned 28000.

For picture friends there is another seven -- that thirteen 5000 dollars for picture for crimes.

It is the expenses just go on and on but this they've done everything they can to keep this information from getting to us.

Well but I wonder and you need -- -- are so infuriating.

And we wonder how -- have possibly happened in the first place because I would think that is you're planning something like this.

You would say these are taxpayer dollars -- getting get out about this and it's gonna come back to bypass.

Yep well see we knew something was sort of -- rotten ended in Denmark her and GSA.

I took over as chairman lot about seventeen months ago.

We started hauling a man and you can see when your administrative expenses -- doesn't take -- you know Harvard.

Business degree to figure this out -- -- administrative expenses -- 300%.

Something's wrong.

So we've been asking it every single hearing we want the they've tried to cover it up and now the inspector general.

GSA that you can't say itself yeah is giving us -- He has another those details and facts to make sure that it never happens again -- -- any other place in government you know -- so egregious them.

I'm gonna do a hearing we've been planning a hearing.

We need to take GSA apartment would you give your property.

To the federal government to manage I don't think so I think we need to start looking at a way to dismantle this.

Agency that has 141000.

Properties buildings and properties.

That are either vacant are under utilized.

This is that this is the tip of the iceberg as I said the force that makes a lot of earnings are -- for -- abolishing it sank.

Well again I think we need to dramatically reform it it can we can bring in people who actually know what they're doing.

It in I had to postpone one hearing we're gonna do this August 1 because they intimidated.

Many other witnesses people who are experts -- and professionals in dealing with property property management there are good property managers out there.

GSA and the government.

-- -- time zone deep in this particular organization that the only answer is to below -- this organization to take it apart and two well you don't give the responsibilities to someone else to create a different organization to do it seems like Jake GSA.

Cannot remain after this if nothing else because the name of it now is a joke.

Well it is but it should be a -- We can't we can get a great return to you know we've done hearings and acting buildings in Washington we're gonna.

UN and an -- courthouse and Miami.

We're taking this to the American people to stop the waste.

We could save billions in this one agency.

Again getting it under control they'll anything any legislation and we've got some -- type legislation we've sent over to the senate.

I know -- it is your job to stop the waste and to look into this and figure out how it happened it would prevent it from happening again so how are you going to do that.

-- taking it to the American people I think there's already so much outrage out there but it's -- job.

To stopping -- so so what's one big melting we're gonna do to stop it.

-- well first thing we have already passed the Brack type.

Piece of legislation dealing with public property -- sitting in the senate.

So I'm gonna needs for more help but we've we've got a lot of bills stuck in the senate.

The other thing to do is continue on our campaign.

To uncover if it's building by building piece of property by piece of property we just did a hearing.

In in Georgetown 2.0 eight acres.

Sitting next to the Ritz -- some of the most expensive real estate on the East Coast vacant for eleven years yeah I think -- I think should sell another one around the -- post office two blocks from -- White House.

Going from a money loser of eight million dollars a year to revenue maker and a thousand people work.
