Job and let's -- return to your first one this is the -- of extraordinary.

High wire act by the president today putting down tax cuts while bragging about having cut taxes.

Are proposing higher taxes on the wealthy but saying is ignoring small business and in the impact.

-- its report relate small business will be affected escorts sole proprietor ships individuals.

Well I think what you're seeing here is a political season which -- defining.

Your opposition and right now the Obama campaign is having success defining Mitt Romney as -- rich guy or speaking for the rich guys of the world.

And out of touch with working class people middle class people and that's what this is intended to do it puts running the position of having to defend.

Tax cuts for the -- Well let me ask every do we have to go back and rewrite the history books -- we have to strike -- John F.

Kennedy from the history books.

We have to do the same thing with Lyndon Baines Johnson do we have to take FDR out of the history books.

Teddy Roosevelt I mean the work with a wealthy men had stood his great historically that the -- The problem lose this president doesn't want to -- yet another bad day week last week with the with the economic figures.

He's getting down the short straws here -- at four months to go before this campaign is -- we got three weeks where you're distracted by the Olympics.

Or basically the fortified by the Olympics those of sports fans.

-- probably -- -- out of here to backtrack and that you know the conventions are late this year not not relevant the -- out raising them substantially.

And it's a dead even race I think the key thing here is he's back to the old formula of the Robin Hood politics of the Democrats take from the rich give to -- for.

And it's not -- work.

Let me ask it is it working I mean we're looking at a race that is a statistical dead heat battleground states our world not a -- What it's not true battleground states Obama -- a pretty good -- -- well actually important factor to two point lead.

According to USA if you look at Ohio you look at Pennsylvania slower rate -- -- when troops are just want to be sure that would cut backs USA today Gallup battleground states.

Dead heat Obama 47 Romney 45 that's statistically a dead heat is that -- scalpel -- -- that's the of don't try this again.

It's -- USA today Gallup poll.

The not not take brought -- the critical thing when you throw Pennsylvania Michigan for five times that -- Vibrant right elections have not voted those are not battleground states.

The battleground states are the Florida's.

The Ohio the north Carolina's the Indiana's.

The the New Hampshire is a collar dollars and Mexico right now when you measure those you don't take too big states and throw that on top of that.

Majority distort the -- at the end of the day this is a dead even race at the top it's a dead even race state by state for an incumbent president isn't it terrible place -- But the advertising this is what I'm saying these -- the advertising that he's been running right now.

Has been hitting at Bain.

Has been hitting at the idea it as -- David Axelrod the president's chief -- that last week.

He's some sort of nixonian figure that won't release his tax returns and I'm telling you what it's showing in the polls is that stuff is resonating working I think what we saw today from the president.

In saying I'm standing up for the middle class a model that Romney stand for the rich.

Echoes this very message this is the message they're banking on going and -- this frame where we're defining the opposition.

They're fighting for Democrats that should have been there -- endless.

And everything that he's done from the gay marriage the basically the immigration program what had to go he's going back after his own base but I disease -- he's an erosion.

He's not bring over independents he certainly -- or any Republicans at this point -- Back to my question which is is it working because if you look at these polls this is a guy who wasn't Romney who's not even supposed to be in contention.

He obviously it's well I think Obama obviously has tremendous trouble on economic pressure and clearly it's the number one issue among voters as the economy.

Now I don't think I disagree with at about last week I think Romney had a tough time last week and part of that had to do with you know people just not feeling -- has stated what he's going to do.

To deal with the county Americans want to -- -- plan when we look at the foxman most recent -- poll.

People say Obama doesn't have much of a plan -- even fewer people say.

That Romney has any idea -- over what to do have you heard a -- I have not and I and I agree totally with one -- I think what he has to talk in terms -- can't just be against the president.

He has to basically be.

This is my economic plan this is what I wanna do to get the economy moving again.

I'm -- repeal healthcare but there are some things of that to be fixed to bring down the cost to give others -- can't get health -- some options.

He needs to be talking about those kinds of things he has today.

While he's also not talking in such way that he is considered at least to be communicating with.

The post -- -- common man in this country I would include.

If I may gentlemen the three of us so much that intervention.

And and the fact of the matter is I don't get that sense of connection W.

Now you know I think -- beat up on Romney sometimes I worry that it's unfair but I mean Romney.

Seems to mean I don't know why he went on vacation last week on the power boat just seemed like he was playing to stereotype what do you don't want.

Any -- is why product honesty do you know that -- What you don't -- -- -- -- to go back very far to find when people on vacation is John Kerry in the latest exit.

It -- congress or Y and it and is important it was a was to get that three million dollars yesterday out in the Hamptons I don't think that's the right visually could raise three million dollars in the works in years.

Right so I mean it's -- with concealed consultant I think -- would -- -- -- you know had enough gravitas that they don't.

Get the -- -- what are you don't want to I'm trying to I'm trying to evaluate if you said that.

Park avenue vs South -- Cover up after -- but I think people you know yachts and park avenue at least people want Romney not only to define himself but to get out there and fight Obama and I think right now he's just not bring -- I don't.

It's a it's a fully engaged campaign which people aren't as interested as they should be and there's no discussion of the issues it has to come.

And who's gonna make that happen.

The national media and hopes are I don't let us Obama even our -- bigger faster shows signs of a productive.

Thanks so much.
