Right -- Obama calling on Republicans to act now on tax cuts for the middle class and leave the debate -- the wealthy for later.

Let's not hold vast majority of Americans and our entire economy hostage.

While we debate the merits of another tax cut.

For the wealthy.

Dramatic pause Ryan Ellis is the tax policy director for Americans for Tax Reform.

This is Grover Norquist group known for the taxpayer protection pledge that many Republican lawmakers have signed.

Welcome Ryan right do you think that the president believes this can pass at all and does he care.

-- clearly doesn't care all you have to do to find out evidence -- that is take a look at the first two years of this administration.

He had super majorities in the house and senate he could've gotten anything he wanted.

And they never once called up -- bill in order to make the existing tax rates for people making less than 250000.

Dollars permanent.

This is not real it's all political and store we sought and it was -- -- Even in terms of of a break for people under -- -- -- probably some one extra year afterwards I guess you raise taxes on does that help the economy a one year promise.

No -- does not in fact we really was advocated today was a tax increase for those making more than 250000 dollars a year.

That would mean every job creating S corporation and partnership in America everyone successful enough to create jobs means a tax increase on anybody who owns stock.

So that's capital gains rate going from fifteen to 23 point eight.

The dividend rate tripling from fifteen to nearly 45%.

And must not forget all the twenty new -- higher taxes that are obamacare.

Many of which falls directly on rental making less -- -- and to tell.

President said today that -- 7%.

I believe it was of all small businesses are below that 250 K.

Threshold but you guys have put out numbers saying two thirds of the actual profits flowing from all small businesses are and that above 250 K explain that please.

Well what that means is that out of all the small businesses in America there about thirty million small businesses in America the president's correct.

That about 28 million of them make less than 250000 dollars a year but -- create any jobs makes sense that wouldn't create any jobs they don't have high enough profits.

Most of your flow through profits are in those those top.

The B two to five percentage points of small businesses that's for all your job creation is.

And if you raise tax rates on those -- soldier raising tax rates on small business sector that really matters in America and those guys that do most of.

Our hiring all right thanks very much Brian Ellis of Americans for Tax Reform appreciate your.
